Police foiled an attempt to smuggle 6.4 million methamphetamine pills and 160 kilograms of crystal meth, or “ice”, across the Mekong River into Loei's Chiang Khan district late on Monday night

A police patrol unit spotted a Toyota Fortuner SUV at the bank of the river in Ban Huay Suak in Tambon Buhom at 10pm.

When the driver saw police he attempted to speed away but a policeman fired at the tyres bringing the vehicle to a halt.

Police saw men leave the vehicle and flee.

Police found 6.4 million meth pills and 160 kilograms of crystal meth in the vehicle.

60 million pills and 160 kg of ice is a pretty damn big diversion.

The guys that ran from Truck and lost the drugs better keep on running and running before the bosses get them.
