Multi entry non-o visa

Featured Replies

Heya, just wanted to see if anyone knows if I can get a multi entry non-o visa with a Thai child? I'm Aussie.

The only nearby location that will issue one is Penang. You will need to prove 400k baht in a bank or proof of income.

You may be able to get one in Australia from the embassy or the official consulate in Sydney.

Thanks, but do you know if I can get multi entry or just single?

Penang will do a multiple entry but may only issue a single entry the first time and a multiple the next time.

Other nearby locations will do a single entry with no financial proof.

Ok thanks ? So Singapore wouldn't issue a multi entry?

Not sure they would even issue a single entry visa. They only show having a Thai spouse to issue a non-o visa on their website and 400k baht in the bank is required.

Ok thanks. So how about Ho Chi Minh city? They don't seem to mention even a spouse based non-o.

I used your link and could not find the requirements until I reloaded the website. Not sure why.

They are shown here. http://www.thaiembassy.org/hochiminh/en/services/2886/46902-Non-Immigrant-Visa-"O"---Accompanying-Th.html

It states this "200 USD for Multiple Entry Visa (for spouse of Thai nationals only) / 200USD".

Thanks UJ, don't know why I can't see these... But seems clear single entry only. So circling back to Penang seems to be the only multi entry option.

Oh one more question... You mention Penang may not give the multi entry first time... Would it make a difference if the first single entry visa was from Ho Chi Minh city? Then I go to Penang for the multi entry?

hi @ubonjoe, just planning my trip to penang to hopefully get the multi trip non-o as the father of a Thai child. Any chance you could check my checklist here:  http://www.evernote.com/l/ACik-JKV74ZMSYRcyZtm3TH6VI2gNZ4Q2F0/

Any other tips or suggestion to get the best outcome as painlessly as possible greatly appreciated :)

It looks OK to me.

Applied today 18/4/2018  Ho Chi Mihn and for multi O they wanted 400,000 baht to show in the bank.

I heard before it wasn't needed but took b'book and copies JIC.

When I asked about it the lady said 'soon all embassies will be the same'

Didn't ask about about single non O.

When you handed in your application, did they actually request to see original bankbook?

Also, how long does it take for them to return the passport with visa? Was it the same price?

hi @ubonjoe, seems I have to visit Australia, and you mentioned I might be able to get the multi-trip non-o there? This saves me a trip to Penang. What are your thoughts? Thanks again as always :)

I'm saddened to know that a father needs a visa to be with their child. If I could I would give you permanent residence so you can take care of your child without any distress.

Hope it all works out smoothly for you.

You should be able to get the multiple entry non-o visa at the embassy in Canberra or the official consulate in Sydney.

You will find the requirements here after entering your country on this page of embassy website. http://canberra.thaiembassy.org/Home/visa
