VPNs have translators to multiple languages. Perhaps there should be a seperate EU election meddling investigation opened. Oh, that's right, they only stiff us in trade but are still our friend. :whistling:

May want to read the whole thing. A bit more complex then you try to present. For example, the next line in the bit you referenced is...

When pressed to use the Romanian language in an interview with Motherboard via online chat, "he used such clunky grammar and terminology that experts believed he was using an online translator."

He told the Washington Times that he corresponded on Twitter with “Guccifer 2.0,” the self-described “hacktivist” from Romania who claims responsibility for the breach of the DNC’s email servers last summer.

Last time I checked, Romania was part of Europe, not Russia.

Let's just take the hacker at face value... The intelligence community does not. In the BBC's correspondence with him they noted that the metadata was in Russian. The intelligence community's findings on his denials were (source: http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-38610402 )...

One of the report's key judgements read: "We assess with high confidence that Russian military intelligence (General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate or GRU) used the Guccifer 2.0 persona and DCLeaks.com to release US victim data obtained in cyber operations publicly and in exclusives to media outlets and relayed material to WikiLeaks."

It added: "Guccifer 2.0, who claimed to be an independent Romanian hacker, made multiple contradictory statements and false claims about his likely Russian identity throughout the election. Press reporting suggests more than one person claiming to be Guccifer 2.0 interacted with journalists."

Guccifer 2.0’ Is Likely a Russian Government Attempt to Cover Up Its Own Hack

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/wnxgwq/guccifer-20-is-likely-a-russian-government-attempt-to-cover-up-their-own-hack

Who is Guccifer 2.0?

  • No web presence for Guccifer 2.0 exists earlier than 6/15/16, the very day that US media publicized the FBI conclusion that Russian intelligence agencies were the probable source of the DNC hack, which began a year or more earlier.
  • Guccifer 2.0 uses ‘)))’ for a smiley instead of the standard ‘:)’. This is common in Russia since the language doesn’t use the colon and it can’t be easily typed on local keyboards.
  • In a chat interview, Guccifer 2.0 claimed to be Rumanian, the nationality of the real Guccifer. Asked to relay a message in that language, the statement was ungrammatical and strange, suggesting the use of a software translator rather than a real Rumanian native speaker.
  • Metadata on the linked documents indicate they were read on several machines using a version of Office 2007 that was cracked and is widely used in Russia. Some of these machines were configured to use Cyrillic language keyboards

Why the pseudonmy "Guccifer 2.0?"

The original Guccifer didn't use Guccifer 1.0 cyber name. Why would he change to Guccifer 2.0?

If the original pseudonmy "Guccifer" was borrowed by another hacker or group of hackers wanting to take advantage of the publicity/notoriety made by the original Guccifer and deflect their real identity but for the purposes of internal operational identity, what better cyber name that "Guccifer 2.0?"

So, the original Guccifer was a Romanian making the big DNC hack election meddling by an EU member. He/They then sold/donated the information to Wikileaks and/or DCLeaks This part seems solid.

Russia, who it seems had been trying to find a way in to screw with elections gets upstaged by this person/group. finds him/them (which no other intelligence agency in the world could do) and either buys the code or steals it so they can get in. (probably the 1st 1)

Up pops Guccifer 2.0 which gives interviews to the international press (?? o_O) while trying to keep the Russian meddling secret by maintaining they are the original Guccifer but too stupid to hire someone who can actually speak Romanian AND transferred all the coding to Russian VPNs and translated it all to Russian language.

The collective of our intelligence agencies (who found WMDs in Iraq) have done enough investigative work to positively conclude it must be the Russians. Produced such highly detailed reports that Mueller was able to obtain indictments against specifically named Russian individuals BUT wasn't/hasn't been able to link it to The Kremlin.

These same intelligence agencies also can't seem to find and shutdown Wikileaks, DCLeaks or Shadow Group even though they have been hacked by all 3 directly for years.

Are you sure this isn't the newest installment of the Tom Clancy novels? Playing the devil's advocate here so don't take it too personal. Might even be the rise of the Illuminate because President Trump doesn't agree with and crossed swords with the Pope. :wai:
