webfact Posted March 19, 2018 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Hunter arrested for shooting and cutting up Asiatic Black bear in Prachuap Khiri Khan Picture: INN INN reported that a hunter aged about 45 years old was in custody after he was found in a national park with an Asiatic Black bear that had been shot. The animal is a protected species. It was cut up into two large pieces of meat and was believed to have been readied for sale. Pictures showed the animal amid a camp in the forest near the Ban Yan Seu reservior in Kuiburi. Rangers, military and police also found a cut up palm civet cat. There was a rifle, ammunition and other items at the camp. INN said another person escaped arrest. The hunter was taken to Ao Noi police station. He has yet to be identified.
