RTA Chief confident Thais will go to polling booths in February 2019

 

BANGKOK, 29th March 2018 (NNT) - The commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Army is confident that Thais will go to the polling booths next February as planned. 

Gen. Chalermchai Sittisart said on Wednesday that he has not been informed of a plan by some members of the National Legislative Assembly, to petition the Constitutional Court to review the draft law on the election of the Members of Parliament to determine if it is in violation of the current Constitution. 

Gen. Chalermchai also denied any knowledge of reports that military personnel have been supporting their fellow officers, who have joined the National Legislative Assembly. 

? In addition, he said that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha did not discuss these issues at the latest meeting of the National Council for Peace and Order, while confirming his belief that the general poll will definitely take place in February 2019. 

The RTA’s commander-in-chief also commented that continued rallies by pro-democracy groups to demand the general election as soon as possible, has been only part of their reason to move people around, and officers from national security-related agencies have been keeping a close eye on the protesters to make sure that their movements don't affect the general public.

Yes he probably does sleep most of the day while conscripts and junior soldiers keep his houses and cars in pristine condition.

 

But on the main point, any election will be a farce. The political ban will be lifted but there will be a similar setup to the referendum where direct campaigning will be banned and all non-military parties getting their rallies shut down while the current junta is allowed to continue pumping billions to the Thai niyom scheme recipients.

1 - he’s not a prime minister as not legally elected -  he’s head of  junta  lead coup its that’s as simple as it gets 

2-  he’s also the top guy for being in the army 

and he uses article 44  when he doesn’t like things 

so sorry general you’re words are meaningless
