I'm thinking that Thais maybe more savvy that all the detractors think as they know the difference between say Indians and Africans. So to say a Dark skinned Westerner maybe considered polite is some circles?

OK so the bickering goes on and on.  Fair enough, after all T.I.TV

Why would you think it was an Afro American car.  That really is racist.  It could be a Afro Japanese car or how about a Jaguar, they are Indian owned now.....

Well, @sanemax replied to how I should describe  the robbers escape car's color (black). And actually it made sense:). Had nothing to do with Japanese car or Jaguar.

In Sweden we soon will not be able to buy Gato Negro from Chile.

This color thing really got out of hand...

It might just help in identifying this poor man (RIP)

You have to go to the UK for there to be no ID, even when the victim of a crime could obviously provide it, like the media are trying to hide something.

Is it OK that they said it was a male? That might be "sexist". Or that it was a "farang", racist?

'You have to go to the UK for there to be no ID, even when the victim of a crime could obviously provide it ...'

You what???

What a ridiculously pathetic thread of replies, even for TV.  Someone actually drowned in that cesspit of a khlong.  And someone jumped in to try and save them which is pretty heroic.  But none of that here; just petty squabbles, some latent racism and lots of nonsense, how sad.

I see many crime reports from the UK where there is no description of the perp, other than gender. This, even when the witness or victim must be able to provide it, like if they spoke to or saw the perp. It seems like they're trying to hide something for political reasons

Who is a 'farang with dark skin' ?? A black man with a passport of a western country OR a a tanned caucasian?

Anyone's guess. Due to the condition of the water he was probably a different colour when he fell in anyway.

Why is the colour of his skin relevant?  Oh, of course, this is Thailand.

They're trying to identify him, obviously!  Oh, of course, this is a Thaivisa poster trying to bash Thailand.  Again.

to all the politically correct a question is posed;  if you and or your family were robbed or assaulted by one or more men would you refuse to tell investigators if they were asian, caucasian, black ??
