Was there a cover up? Weird story of the "penis-cam" at Isaan medical school

Mystery surrounds the story of several cameras that were set up in male toilets to film the private parts of men at urinals.

The cameras were made to look like they were possibly air fresheners.

But when a curious medical student examined one he found a miniature camera and a memory card. And his own face and activity had been recorded.

He reported his findings to a professor at the institute who suggested he wear gloves to preserve fingerprint evidence and look in other toilets.

Three more were fitted with the devices by urinals in exactly the same manner.

The ladies' toilets were checked and there was nothing untoward.

But after a month passed and the student's observations yielded no suspect or proper response from the university he went on Facebook under the name "Keen Pinkaew" to ask:

"Are the university authorities more concerned with reputation than finding the criminal?"

Now the manner has been approached more seriously. Two professors have acted and the police got involved though there has still been no arrest.

In line with usual practice the news media has not named the university just saying it is a famous one in the North East of Thailand.

"Keen Pinkaew" said on Facebook that on March 1st he noticed a wall mounting next to where he was urinating in a toilet used by staff, professors and students next to a service lift.

Later that same day the mounting had been fitted with something that he first thought was an air freshener. But seeing as he had an interest in electronics he took a closer look.

He was shocked to find it was a mini-camera and on checking the memory card found he had been recorded.

Then there followed his report of the incident and the subsequent findings in the other toilets, reported Thai Rath.

But after that everything went cold.

However, now that the police have got involved matters have improved. The university authorities have told the maids and security to watch out....and a new CCTV system is in the offing in the areas outside the toilets.

But whether the person or persons responsible will be found is yet to be seen.

I don't quite understand the meaning of your statement :

As any wide-angle lens reproduces and distorts closer distant objects of any position and size unrealisticly LARGE or,  only a wide-angle lens could reproduce this (your) object undistorted and realistic in size 4:3 format-filling, provided the distance from  is sufficiently chosen?
