i spent a week at pattaya and used same  songteaw every day as my children were over from oz

the last day he said would cost 700b to pattaya airport  

night before rings he is not allowed to go to airport so wife rings around 

cheapest 1400b or 1800b for mini van 

who is getting this extra money corruption 

anyone can take you to cm airport?

You mean Utapao airport yes anyone can take you there...don't know why the songteaw didn't want to.

CM airport is actually in CM whereas U-Tapao is 40+km away from Pattaya and nearly an hour's drive.

That said, there is no particular reason why any bahtbus or taxi should not want to go there, apart from just not wanting to go there.

There is a periodic shuttle bus that goes to/from Central, and many signs around town advertise taxis from about 350B. Also just about any bus on Sukumvit going south will pass by the entrance to U-Tapao. Online taxi apps may be another option, if they are still working.
