Popular Post webfact
Overnight sensation! But Nong Orm the graduate road sweeper says it's an honest living! Picture: Daily News Daily News reported on a young Lat Krabang woman who got a bachelor's degree then became a road sweeper for the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority. The news media called her an over night net idol after she posted two pictures of her in her graduation gown and road sweeping garb on Facebook and got 32,000 shares. Nong Orm's real name is Suwanan Ketiam and she qualified in psychology from Chantarakasem. She said on her own page that graduating doesn't mean having to work in an air-conditioned office and having enough money to save. She wanted to do something useful, not have the pressure of normal work and have the freedom to move about. Pretty Suwanan said that the people she works with are lovely and supportive and she gets to go to many places in the capital as part of a team. "It is something that most people would not consider," she said. "But graduates should consider doing work like this. It is a lot better than being unemployed and having no money". She said that being a road sweeper was an honest living and better than being stuck in an office taking money for something that was a waste of time. She could enjoy her work and make the city a cleaner place too. Source: Daily News -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-04-10

BEVUP
Personally I don't think it was a matter of choice There's that many Graduates every year (you only got to look on the Tv at the ones who pay to have their papers handed to them ), that there is no way to be enough spots in that airconditioned office Just had a thought They should be trying to haggle the Gov to get into the Immigration Dept to fill those empty booths at the airports

Popular Post Hupaponics
It’s people like this that make me happy. She will hopefully soon be headhunted to a good job. Every employer looking for staff like her. If I had the need to hire more staff, she’d be high on the list. Well done!

Krataiboy
Bad news my elder daughter who is hoping to get into a top Thai university to take a bachelor's degree in clinical psychology. But full marks to this young lady for getting some much-needed work experience - hopefully, while studying for her Master's. The very best of luck to her and the many thousands of other graduates - the biggest single unemployed group in Thailand - who are prepared to lower their vocational sights and roll up their sleeves rather than sponge on mair and por. andrusius
This semester one of my undergrads dropped out. Granted she was not a good student but I was surprised to learn that she left undergrad because she passed the police force exam. Perhaps I will run into her at one of their monthly donation points. balo
This is my kind of girl. When I clean up the beaches in Pattaya once per week, Thais are pointing at me and laughing, look at that stupid farang. I would like to invite Nong Orm with me to Pattaya so she can show the locals the importance of having a clean city. Maybe they stop laughing. Snap of photo of these high class laughers, I'd like to see them.
