Okay, so now the time is approaching for me to extend my 3 months (pension) non-O visa to 1 year, a few questions:

1- How many days before the 3 months visa expires do I have to apply - for Phuket Town immigration office please (sometime it differs office by office) !?

2- What documents do I need for this, form number etc. (I know I need the pension proof, photocopy of passport pages, more photos I guess and.... !?)

3- Can I get a re-entry permit right then (in the same 103 room/office), or need to go another trip afterwards !?

4- My passport is almost full, I may have to get a new passport by the the time go out and I come back again (after getting the 1 year extension and going back to UK). Would that be okay to re-enter with the new passport and showing the stamps in the old passport (I guess will transfer to the new passport at some point after I re-enter).

Cheers,

A.

I am not UK citizen. I am an Asian. I extended 1 year retirement in Phuket town immigration on Feb. this year by money in Thai bank method. I will try to answer your questions as much as I can.

First, I recommend you to read this site.

http://piv-phuket.com/latest-information/

> Here you will find all the latest information regarding Phuket Immigration

Q1. When should you go?

I believe you got 90 days permission to stay at your entry. You should go to immigration during the period between 30 days before and on the last date of your permission.

This date is not "Enter before" date on your original VISA.

Q2. Documents?

1. Cash THB 1900.-

2. TM-7 Application form with one face photo.

Face photo should be white background and without glass.

Please add you e-mail address and phone number on TM-7 even though there is no field for these.

Print this on one A4 paper. (Use both side of a paper.)

3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR

PERMIT OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND

You can have this form at writing desk in front of room 103.

4. Passport with TM-6 departure card and receipt of TM-30 address registration

5. Copy of passport

Info page, original VISA, entry stamp and TM-6

Extension and Re-entry page, only if you have these

(At the first extension, you do not have)

6. Receipt of TM-47 90 days notification, only if you are in Thai for more than 90 days.

(At the first extension, you are in Thai less than 90 days)

7. Financial documents, pension or Thai bank

     For Thai bank method

       Bank passbook and its copy

Bank letter for the account; account name, number and latest amount

Bank print out of amount for last 6 month

(Sorry, I do not know about pension)

8. Hand draw map of the location of your house

(This is only for Phuket, maybe)

9. Photo of you in front of your house with the house number visible

(This is only for Phuket, maybe)

Q3 Re-entry permit

You will apply extension in room 103 and receive on the next working day at 13:00. Even though application is done before 12:00, you have to come again on the next day.

After that, you have to make photocopy and apply re-entry permit in room 101. Room 103 is for extension only. If not too many people there, you will get re-entry permit on that afternoon.

This is TM-8 Re-entry application form.

Q4 Passport page

I can not answer.

I can get new passport form the embassy of my home country in Bangkok. So to transfer stamp to the new passport and extend at the sometime would be the answer to me.

Just a quick feedback, this went as planned (damage 1900), the only thing was they asked me for a hand-drawn map of my residence when I was applying first for the 3 months non-o visa but they didn't ask for my photo standing in front of the place at that time.

This time they asked for the photo but not the map.... ! He said you need to give the photo, I did a quick Thai-style chicky-bluff and said, I gave all this last time, he said wait a minute, checked on the computer (yes, on the computer !) and said no you didn't give the photo, only map - sharp boy in that room 103.... lol. So they want those only once for 3 months to 1 year extension.

Also single re-entry permit pretty straight forward, room 101 (damage 1000b),  it's the money they are really after (should save us all and themselves the hassle and just charge at the entry at the airport !).

Also asked about getting a new passport and they said just come back with this one that has the visa/stamps in it and it will be fine at the airport. And next time they transfer it...

That guy who checks docs outside room 103 is a randy little bugger, came a tall pretty blonde when I was there and he was all over her like a rash, put arms around her, touchy feely and flirting - and they call us farangs pervert.... !!! ? lol
