Pattaya: The military is investigating who threw rocks at a new weekend tourist train to Pattaya.

A Facebook user posted a report that the April 1 afternoon return train to Bangkok left Pattaya five minutes late at 4:30 p.m.

because, as it passed Yanasangwararam Temple’s station at 4:03 p.m., it was hit with rocks, breaking a window. No one was injured.

This followed a similar rock-throwing incident involving another train the day before.

Pattaya spokesman Pinit Maneerat said that the military is investigating with police assistance, as the train is owned by State Railway of Thailand.

The weekend train service began March 17, offering package tours to six different stops in the East that combine rail transportation with visits to local tourist attractions.
