Chiropractor in Pattaya trained in upper cervical spine needed

I have been recommended by an overseas MD to try seeking out a qualified upper cervical spine trained chiropractor (is an additional year beyond a chiropractor's degree to get this qualification as I have been informed) to try and resolve a possibly related inner ear hearing loss condition stemming from neck trauma.  Does anyone know of a properly qualified chiropractor in Pattaya that has this specific training and is recommended?  Alternatively Bangkok or a neighbouring area?

I do not know of any in Bangkok and there is a HUGE risk in having your cervical spine manipulated by anyone who does not know exactly what they are doing. (As in: complete paralysis, death...)

 

Many chiros here in Thailand do not even have basic formal training. Some do, but by no means all and it is not easy to verify.

 

I do know an excellent Shiatsu practitioner (not chiro) in Phnom Penh with extensive training in Japan, I have no idea if he could help with hearing loss but he cured my sister of vertigo related to an inner ear problem. I've been looking around for something similiar here and so far found this but have no feedback on them

Personally, I'd consult a specialist in hearing disorders to find out exactly what the cause is.

Thanks for the sound advice Sheryl.  Unfortunately the cause is idiopathic - according to two neuro otologists at Bangkok Hospital so it is a process of elimination to hopefully get the right cause.  Definitely would be going chiro with specialist training or go back to Australia if none here. Much appreciated - maybe you saved my life!!!!!

Returning to Australia would allow you to seek the opinion of an Australian registered ENT specialist.

Mark Leoni is an extremely competent chiropractic based healer, and he has a team that includes a physical therapist, modern methods and instrumentation.  He communicates well and is honest and thorough with explanations. He knows his capabilities and limitations. 

He does a careful, comprehensive exam before beginning treatment. He referred me for x-rays at a hospital radiology department as part of his diagnosis procedure. 

He collaborates with other medical professionals and refers to an orthopedic physician or other medical specialist when appropriate.  

His hands are perceptive, strong and precise and emit healing energy.  The soft but firm and sure gentle manipulations that he did on my upper cervical was the best I've experienced. And I've used chiropractic for 50 years, including upper cervical specialists who were not nearly as thorough in assessment and treatment. (With years of intense tree work and martial arts, I needed  a lot of help with the daily stress and beatings I took).

There are all kinds of chiropractors and other alternative health care practitioners. Mark Leoni is the best kind in my opinion. Far, far above the negative stereotyped image of a chiropractor as a wham bam bone cracking quack.

MarkLeoni is indeed a good general chiropractor but he does not have the additional specialized training the OP is seeking.

Maybe so. And if the bottom line is credentials, then that may be an important consideration. I was just saying, that after having treatments from at least four different upper cervical chiropractic specialists in the US over the years, I would trust Mark Leoni's assessment and treatment of upper cervical conditions over any of them. And the great big bonus is, that Mark Leoni assesses the whole body and being, not just the upper cervical with tunnel vision, like most of the specialists. But thats just my experience and opinion.

Thanks for the info everyone.  Yes the chiropractic qualifications needed for my condition are extremely high - one or both of two certain procedures & they need to very experienced at: 'Blair' or the 'NUCCA method'.   

 

From recommendations I was messaged to find right chiro: 

"Regular chiropractors are people who have attended a recognized chiropractic school and received
their Doctor of Chiropractic degree (DC). To obtain this degree they must first earn a 4-year bachelor
level degree followed by a 4-year doctoral degree in chiropractic.
All upper cervical chiropractors have earned DC degrees, but they have also gone on to take a 1-year
post-doctoral specialty in upper cervical spine treatment techniques and associated clinical training.
Only about 2% of chiropractors go on to take the upper cervical post-doctoral training."

 

They are a rare breed to find.  Most countries only have one or a few around.  Just thought Thailand may have had one.  Thanks. May need to go back to Oz for this.  But will keep other chiro in mind too.  Would be much preferable not having to fly back.

Thanks.  Have seen general ENT and two neuro-otologists here at hospital for the sensorineural hearing loss but so far idiopathic.  Chiropractic route is not really recognised by ENTs but research has shown success stories using upper cervical chiro treatment.  Over 100 causes of SHL so process of elimination and experimentation if cause cannot be determined (only 15% are ever found).  Will be seeking neuro-otologists in Australia for further advanced testing.  Thanks.
