Thailand’s top cop visits Pattaya

PATTAYA:--National police chief Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda visited his troops in Pattaya to boost morale before Songkran.

Chakthip arrived from Bangkok via helicopter at the Banglamung School field and motored to the Facilitation Unit for Tourists on Pattaya Beach at the beginning of Soi 13/1 and Bali Hai Pier.

He gave officers on duty water and energy drinks and encouraged them to help tourists as much as possible.

He said top police and government officials were most concerned about keeping Pattaya clean during Songkran as well as ensuring businesses and public officials don’t take advantage of tourists.

Waste of funds and money best spent on bank audits

Hopefully he found enough time to enjoy a relaxing massage at the many excellent massage parlours here,a happy ending to his trip would then have been complete...........

"....ensuring that businesses and public officials don't take advantage of tourists...."   ????????!!!!!:cheesy:

(at least they try) :clap2:

Too bad he did not meet with the expats that live here. He may have heard a "different story".

Yes a meeting with that group would reveal a really cheerful, happy go lucky objective mob.

Some of course would show thwir happiness, gratitude etc etc for neing allowed to settle in this fine country.

Others????

I saw the photo opp .....life in the bubble...as Thailand clings to the memories of a once great kingdom...

Bangkok's massage parlours are way better than Pattaya's.

I can only speak for myself and experience at a Town Hall Meeting in Pattaya in 2013. There were over 300 people in attendance, chaired by the Mayor, with high ranking police, administrative and ancillary staff from the city. It went off without any outburst or incidents from the several hundred expats in attendance.

The open mic session afforded each person an opportunity to suggest and express concerns about traffic, safety and the environment.

There are many expats that can be civil and constructive in this city. The Pattaya City Expats Club and other civic organizations are proof of this. The bar stool, negative and haters brigades are not representative of the whole expat community. They are just the most visible and noisy.

I am sure his itinerary afforded him valuable insights into improving Pattaya policing.
