Taking A Vehicle Into Cambodia

I have to do a visa run to Hat Lek soon and would like to travel down on my m/c. Before I usually stay the night in Ko Kong and return the next day using public transport .This time I would like to get there on my bike .Is there anyone who has had experiences doing the same and taking the bike over to Ko Kong so as to keep an eye on it rather than leave in a car park on the Thai side of the border . It is registered in my wifes name so would appretiate any info or tips

on what documentation is rquired to get onto Cambodia and re-enter into Thailand the next day

Sorry Samsid.

You probably won't be able to do it unless you wife goes as well.

The vehicle needs to be in your name.

When you go to the immigration office, tell them you want to take the vehicle.

You must show the log book.

They give you a letter which you take across the road to the Customs office who issue a document allowing you to re-import the vehicle when you come back.

No charges on the Thai side!!

0.5 km past the border, on the hill, is the Cambodian office where they will note that you have brought the vehicle in and charge a small sum, 200 baht I think.

You are only allowed to drive the vehicle in the immediate province that you have entered, no trips to Phanom Pen

Thanks for the reply Astral .Looks like taking the bike over to Cambodia is not an option as I will be on my own. Does anyone know of a SECURE car park on the Thai side of the border for overnight parking .

You can use the casino parking lot on the thai side of the border. It's the last place on the left just before the border. Right across from the immigration booth. It has 24 hour security. The cost for a car is 200 baht per day, don't know about motorbikes. You don't have to pay for parking if you use the casino/tax free/coffee shop on the cambodian side. Make sure they stamp the parking ticket, then the parking is free.
