As you say, fear of retribution is the cause for the protest to subside, remove that fear and its off to the races.

April 26, 20188 yr Correlation does not prove causation. Many things have happened during this same period. Oh, stiff penalties for protesting comes to mind. Songkran has come and gone. And any of hundreds of other events that could be presumed (incredulously or not) to be the cause of less protests

The average IQ in Thailand is still 89 and has been for 12 years, despite the Flynn effect. Singapore is 108, which is odd since everyone knows Thailand leads SEA in everything.
