We did ours end of December/start of January as a standard application and visa was issued end of last month.

Something sounds really off with your application. Have you not received a 'not straight forward' email?

From About our services, Service standards

Quote
Customers applying for settlement from outside the UK. 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the application date and 100% within 24 weeks of the application date (where 1 week is 5 working days)

24 weeks of 5 days is, of course, 120 days; but remember, as your wife applied in October, you have to take Christmas and new Year off that.

The only thing that I can immediately think of is that they need to confirm some details with a third party, and that third party has not yet responded to their enquires. But, from the above page

If we can’t make a decision within the service standards

If there is a problem with your application or if it is complex, we will write to explain why it will not be decided within the normal standard. We will write within the normal processing time for the 8 week standard and within 12 weeks for the 6 month standard. The letter will explain what will happen next.

So they should have written to your wife, as she is the applicant, and told her what is going on (she would come under the 8 week standard).

What is the content of those?

Can you copy them here? (If you do, remember this is a public forum so first remove all names and any other identifying information such as your email address.)

Whilst an MP cannot influence a visa application, decision makers have to follow the rules which are set by Parliament, their enquiries are supposed to be answered quickly and completely. Sounds a bit like your MP is fobbing you off as well!

The entire process is expensive. That being said why people do not pay the 573 pounds for the decision in 30 days is beyond me. ..(service not available to complex cases refer to website)
Your example is a good a good example. The wait would drive me mad
Good luck[emoji106]

That does sound like a long time. My wife was granted her visa today after submitting her application form at the beginning of Feb. I was expecting a much longer wait due to my employment status and having to provide a years worth of accounts.

Good luck with your wife's application and fingers crossed for you both.

Not everybody has an extra £573 to spend. The wait wouldn’t bother me that much but thankfully my wife got her settlement visa back in 2016 and it was only 15 days. Before they changed the decision making to Sheffield. Progress eh?!

i also submitted 1 yrs wage slips and bank statements

Did you also submit the required specified evidence that the financial requirement is met; depending upon how you are meeting it?

Decision makers can defer an application if evidence is missing or in the wrong format; though they should have notified the applicant, your wife, of this and asked for the missing evidence; giving a deadline for it to be produced.

No none of us have heard nothing .only the same emails when i have enquired.under cat B .have been asked for no more evidence.

Would still like to see copies of those so we can comment on the contents. Not sure why you wont provide them.

Is it possible now a refusal could be on the cards ? As it is taking so long?

Quite possibly the opposite? Had they been minded to refuse they would probably already have done so.

Of course, no way of knowing for sure.

So they are awaiting information from a third party as I suspected.

What that information is, who they are waiting to provide it and whether it relates to you, for example confirmation of your income, or your wife they, unfortunately, don't say. It would, of course, help enormously were they to so do; at least then you'd know what is causing the delay.

All I can suggest at this stage is you follow the senior caseworker's advice and wait until May 30th before querying the delay again; unless your wife receives her decision before then, of course.
