Can I get a cheap health certificate in Thailand and use it in my visa application at a Thai consulate in Europe about 3 months later?

People have used one from here to apply for a OA long stay visa. Whether it will be accepted or not depends upon where you apply for the visa.

I suggest you contact the embassy where you will be applying about it.

Yes I agree with Ubonjoe...best check with Embassey. My health certificate had to be notarized in UK and he phoned doctors to check blood tests, xrays (TB) etc.

Out of curiosity, was notarisation in your case undertaken by Ashtons who are the firm of solicitors referred to in the link on the London Embassy website?

Certainly the notary public whom I used for this purpose when I obtained my non-OA visa in 2008 didn't call the GP who had signed my medical certificate after a "thorough medical examination" which had consisted of her eyes moving from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet, before doing the necessary!

Better ask directly.

The "3 months later" might be a problem.

Here in Thailand a health certificate for a driving license must not be older than one month.

No the notary was in Cardiff...who took his role very seriously...even phoned bank manager who signed off statement of bank account.
