In a weekly nationwide search, 63 foreigners were arrested on Thursday night as tourist police joined forces with other police agencies.

Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpa said five were arrested for overstaying their visa – one Lao, one Indian, one Vietnamese, one Russian and one Myanmarese – in the 10th X-Ray Outlaw Foreigner Operation.

At a 2am press conference at the Huay Kwang police station, the deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau said 51 were arrested for unlawful entry to the Kingdom. They are 30 from Myanmars, 10 Cambodians, eight Laotians, one Indian, one Vietnamese, and one Sierra Leonean.

Surachet said seven others were arrested on other charges – two Nigerians, two Indians, one Chinese, one Myanmarese and one Ghanaian.

He said police searched about 125 locations, including seven international schools, 15 language schools and 56 ordinary schools.

I want to know what schools were open at that time of night??...And judging by the clothes the suspects are wearing they do not look to be dressed as one would expect person in schools to be dressed...Perhaps these are the janitors?

Not even the Thai teachers have yet started at these ordinary schools.

Wasn't it the 14th to 17th when government schools open? But how much do I know..

After Outlaw 12,452, there won't be anymore paying foreigners around and Thailand will develop backwards and use buffaloes as a mean of transport.

Time to drink more Lhao Kao.

I understood that Myanmar was the name the Army imposed on the country.    Now it has a more or less a civilian government,  the old name of Burma has returned.

I'm a Burmese. No. It is just Burmese. No such name as Myanmarese.

"No such name as Myanmarese."

PEOPLE OF MYANMAR

People in Myanmar are called Burmese (fortunately the generals didn't change the official name of the people along with the name of the country). The ethnic group after which Burma is named is the Burmans or Bamars. Burmese is both a noun (singular and plural) and adjective. It refers to the language and culture of these people and citizens of Myanmar. The citizens of Myanmar are called Myanmars, Myanmaris or Myanmarese by some.
