Is there anything complicated about doing an oil change on the Ecosport or anything that can make it difficult?

Not having a wrench or being too fat to get under it would make it difficult.

Crawl under it. If you can get at the drain plug and the filter, you should be good.

Reason for asking is I only have the handbook in Thai. I was concerned about and really don't know if the oil is common to gearbox and engine like the old mini. It's not my car by the way.

Could ask this guy to help.

You should be able to make out the service schedule, capacities table and oil grades, even in Thai...
