I wonder if you I could ask for some advise?

I have been living in Thailand for years on a Non Imm O visa based on marriage.

I do the border run every 3 months ( thats the way I like it and have not tried to get and extension of stay )

I was actually due to travel to Savannakhet next month to get a new visa but whilst in the UK I lost my passport.

Now that I have a new ( and blank ) passport when I travel back to Thailand in a few weeks will I have an issue or will they see my exising and valid Non Imm O VISA on the system?

Or should I enter Thailand on a 30 day visa and then travel to Savennahet within that 30 days?

What thoughts?

You visa was lost with your passport. Immigration does not have records of visas that were issued by a embassy or consulate.

You could get a new multiple entry non-o at the embassy in London by post or in person.

If not you will only get a 30 day visa exempt entry and may have to show a ticket out of the country within 30 days to board your flight to here.

You need a new visa. Easily obtained by post from the London embassy. They usually return the passport/visa within a week.

if you have time you can get from London next day if you can go in person or a week by post. note on their site it mentions financials but they are not required it's the same requirements as savannaket.

You can only apply for it at the embassy. The honorary consulates cannot issue multiple entry non immigrant visas now.

No. You can only get a multiple entry non-immigrant visa from the London embassy. And you can only apply for any visa by post from the embassy.

You can still apply in person from Hull, but only for single entry visas. They no longer accept postal applications and can’t issue multiple entry visas. You can get the application agreed by email before you visit.

From the Hull website.

Important Information about Non-Immigrant Visas

With the introduction of new procedures for the granting Non-Immigrant Visas, the Royal Thai Consulate at Hull is now providing assistance for the following categories of single entry Non-Immigrant Visa applications:- ‘B’, ‘ED’ and ‘O’

Applicants can email to the Hull Consulate their applications with all supporting documentation. The Hull Consulate then applies to the Royal Thai Embassy in London for authority to issue the visa and, if approved, the applicant will be invited to visit us in person so that the visa can be issued into their passport. This process usually takes 2-3 days but during the peak period of September to January it can take up to 7 days. The advantage to the applicant is that they do not need to visit us until they know they are going to be granted the visa. When the applicant visits the Hull Consulate the visa will be issued within one hour.

If you’re applying in London you can apply by post or in person. Post is easiest and you’ll get the visa/passport back within a week. If you apply in person you collect the next day.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I didn't know you could apply in London without needing financial proof.  Only issue I have is all my docs ( marriage certificate etc ) are all in Thailand.

Good idea.  Is everyone sure that there is no need for financial proof as with Savanakhet?

They don’t need originals. You just need a copy of your marriage certificate and your wife’s ID or passport.

Indeed. But Cardiff, for example, would issue a tourist visa, which could then be converted at immigration.

Guys - just a quick follow on question.

I will fly using the 30 day visa exempt method with a flight to Saigon with 30 days.

Can I ask about the financial requirement ?  Do I need 20,000 THB on my person ?  If so, does it need to be in THB ?

Thanks in advance

When entering visa exempt, the absolute minimum is 10,000 baht equivalent in cash, which can be in any major currency (I still suggest the carrying of 20,000 baht equivalent).
