Phra Buddha Isara refuses to be bailed

BANGKOK, 31st May 2018 (NNT) - A former activist monk Phra Buddha Isara has declined to be released on bail after he was arrested for robbery and criminal association.

A group of monks and people visited the former monk, who is now known as Suwit Thongprasert, at Bangkok Remand Prison. Former members of the People's Democratic Reform Committee; Sathit Wongnongotey and Chumpol Julasai were also among the visitors.

Suwit’s lawyer, Theerayut Suwannakaesorn, claimed his client will only seek bail if the case goes to court.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said today he had offered a public apology over the treatment of the former monk. He also pleaded with the public to understand the work of the police.

I wonder if his old mate Suthep will bob along to see him.

Suwit or Prawit, or same same..

So smug, so confident.

This slime ball knows so much about so many of the Amart and more.

“Come, charge me and see what happens”.

Why would he want to be released he is a martyr to the cause. Plus he's probably having the time of his life. There's no way this guy is hetrosexual.images-31.jpg

What a martyr!

Where else is free lodging and boarding available? Temple option is already crossed.

Is he no longer a monk, or does he slip back into uniform when out of custody? If he's in civvies, then I'm sure one of his harem would just love to 'put him up', so to speak. It would be a happy ending.

There is method in him not wanting bail, he is hoping to become a martyr.

Just a ploy to get more public support/ sympathy.

Yeah, apparently he needs some sort of support for his dodgy back.

And how did he get a bad back?
Eh? Eh? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

That's as good point. Didn't I read he was refused bail, or was that just a couple of days ago, before the Supreme Saviour's grovelling?

Ah, I think is common knowledge to anyone with half a brain! ?

Wait! Please show some sympathy for this poor man, Suwit Tongprasert (which means 'Good Thinking' and 'Glorious Gold' 'Wit' just like in English ). He has severe backpain and sits in a wheelchair,  and will  be admitted to a hospital for years, just like Kamnan Phoh.

Should be apologising for not arresting him 3 years ago.

So, not refusing bail, after all...

A pathetic excuse compared to the long disappeared Phra Dhammachayo who used to have a multi-million-baht hyperbaric chamber. Seems the monkist excuses these days are getting very limp.

Maybe he is sulking because he wants back his monk privileges to use the fast track check-in at Swampy Airport, reserved seats at the boarding gates and free public transport ? :whistling:

This clearly shows the kind of people that still hold him in high esteem. If typical and I dont believe it is, then it says a lot about the people in general

he is defrocked and dismissed by Royal decree.......no Phra whatshisname anymore

Have a fat dude step on his head while in prison. Kinda like you do with a cockroach.

Unlikely but maybe on the days he is not ordering in Pizza and KFC to soak up his beers , prison gruel is better than monk gruel
