First name and last name in Thai driver's license
Sorry but it does matter. Earlier this year I bought an inland flight ticket BKK to KK through Booking .com, the ticket was issued with my name in reverse order and Thai airways did not want to let me board because of it, however after some considerable arguing with them I got on the plane but discovered after arriving that my miles had not been added so I had to send an email explaining the situation with pics of my ticket, boarding card and my passport and demand that they, Thaiairways fix the discrepancy with immediate effect as I was the innocent party in this matter. They did so but I felt it was with reluctance, and I am sure that the poster may well experience difficulties and will be forced to carry his passport to resolve the issue. -

Community Elderly Thai Man with Alzheimer’s Stabs Wife, Takes Own Life
Picture courtesy of Amarin. An 82-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease hanged himself after stabbing his 77-year-old wife in a shocking domestic incident in Pran Kratai District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. The incident occurred at around 10:00 on 20 May. According to local reports, the suspect, Mr Thongbai, attacked his wife, Mrs Sa-ard, with a knife, stabbing her in the left side of her torso. The wound penetrated her lung, leaving her critically injured. Emergency services were alerted and quickly transported Mrs Sa-ard to Pran Kratai Hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, where her condition is now reported to be stable and out of immediate danger. Following the attack, Mr Thongbai reportedly returned to the house and took his own life by hanging himself with a traditional pha khao ma cloth from a roof beam inside the home. Family members believe the attack may have been triggered by Mr Thongbai failing to take his prescribed medication for Alzheimer’s disease. They said he sometimes exhibited signs of irritability linked to the condition, though he had never previously harmed anyone. At the time of the incident, the couple were alone at home while other family members were at work. Witnesses say Mrs Sa-ard was working inside the house when Mr Thongbai, who had been resting outside, suddenly entered the home, grabbed a knife, and stabbed her once in front of the house before she collapsed. Concerned neighbours rushed to help and alerted emergency services. While Mrs Sa-ard recovers in hospital, relatives have asked that the media refrain from attempting to contact her directly, as they have not yet informed her of her husband’s death for fear the emotional shock may worsen her condition. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai) or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Please also contact your friends or relatives at this time if you have feelings of loneliness, stress or depression. Seek out help. Adapted by Asean Now from Amarin 2025-05-21. -
