Hamburg and Amsterdam are still not up there with the tourist spots of Thailand. Cambodia may challenge soon though, with all these changes going on.

Back to the topic. TiT, most of the tourists are single men and wherever they go they have more than plenty of girls propositioning them on an hourly basis. No wonder they think every girl is up for it. My gf works in Pattaya (normal admin job, btw) and gets the odd wink and nod here and there even when she's with me. I asked her if this bothers her, she just said "this is Pattaya.It's part of living and working here". She really doesn't take it personally.

apologies to any italians who may be reading this. the assumption that the 'gentleman' was italian was made by the girl.

my whole point was that i think its unfair of men or women (of whatever nationality) to assume that all thai women are for sale.

i might also add my contempt for one other assumption that is way off target. that assumption is made by many supposedly educated thai WOMEN i have met in phuket who immediately assume that ALL isaan girls are easy and are all for sale. i cannot get over this!

where does this come from? well, i understand that a great deal of the working girls here in phuket may come from isaan, but does that mean that ALL of them are for sale? most of my good friends come from isaan, and i can categorically tell you that most of these girls are 'good' girls who would be shocked and appalled at being offered money for sex!

Two sides of the coin here, I mean how many times do girls approach us and ask us for a (payed) good time? As for tourist, almost the only thing you see in these tourist areas are prostitutes! Don't deny this! Very easy to blame the farang and call him a moron.

Please Ulysses, how do I stop them from running away and vomiting? I bathe every month whether I need it or not and my mother thinks I'm passable good looking. I never offer less than 150 Baht for LT. What am I doing wrong?

When I am in Thailand I try to follow local customs and culture the best that I could, and in general I am a pretty quiet guy. I have been told by many Thai people that I am not like the typical farang, because I am polite and quiet. It is farang like that guy who give all farang a bad reputation.
