The swastika is an ancient religious symbol used in Buddhism and appears on many old artifacts.

I can't see due to the cropping of the photo, but I have often seen items for sale that feature the murderous, homophobic gangster, Che Guevara right next to Hitler items. Nobody ever seems to care about those items. Selective outrage I guess.

Im not normally against this sort of thing but the way the world is going I would like to see them banned until the adults in the room start acting like grown ups again

no, hes a fashion icon, and I could accept that with hitler too if people werent actively trying to emulate his bigotry

Swastika is older than Buddhism as it is a Hindu symbol. See it all over in Bali. Even saw it once worked into pattern of chimney in house in my hometown, built long before WW2, for what that is worth (not much....).

 Hitler would be very new age.... vegetarian, ecology,  fitness, eastern mysticism...

As distasteful as some these items might be, it is not a police matter unless some specific law is being broken. To be very honest, I see a few far more offensive sights in Pattaya than such stuff on sale. I can just walk past vendors but some things just bump right into me.

Ban Hitler photos because he is a bigot , but allow CGV photos because he isnt a bigot and people are not trying to emulate Hitler by banning things and being a bigot.

The swastika symbol in the OP photo specifically represents the design of the Nazi swastika, not Buddhism or Hinduism.

While earlier in Thailand:

Thai people doesn't even know what WW2 was, they don't know anything about European history, so I'm not surprised at all something like this is possible in Thailand.

 

So the Russians did not use ANY aircraft, ships, tanks, trucks, fuel, food, ammunition etc that were supplied to them FOC and carried on allied ships to Murmansk and other Russian ports in convoys of allied merchant ships escorted by allied warships.

 

I suggest that you remove your head from your nether regions and Google Arctic convoys and see what that will tell you. Researching a topic sometimes helps you from looking foolish.

 

BTW you forgot to mention that it was only the Free French helping the allies and not the French military on the mainland. You also forgot the Polish, Dutch, Belgian, US and Commonwealth troops as well.

 

Stalin DIDN'T just keep his temper and stop at Berlin, He also went further into Germany, Poland Romania, Austria etc Before he WAS stopped by Allied troops.

As a German, I've got to agree with the Frenchman. Thais just don't know much about history and it's scary that the most Nazis these days seem to be in the United States.

The Swastika is actually from Sanscrit which means good fortune or well being. I've seen the Swastika in old Roman buildings in Marocco. Thais just don't know much about history, while certain Americans are well aware of it. 

 

Having Hitler next to Superman and Batman and perhaps Hello Kitty doesn't make Thais to Nazis.
