SATUN, 12th June 2018 (NNT) – The newly renovated Wang Prachan border checkpoint in Satun province has provided more convenience to people travelling between Thailand and Malaysia.

A customs officer in Thailand's southern province, Sivakrit Jenvipit, said the renovation was completed on May 8th this year.

Mr. Sivakrit said Wang Prachan border checkpoint facilitates a large number of tourists who wish to visit Lipe Island and Satun Geopark as well as transportation between Thailand and Malaysia. He said people at the checkpoint can also buy various products at shops along the border.

He added that people without a border pass are not permitted to travel through the Thai-Malaysian border checkpoints.

I traveled through that border on the 11th and it was still being built.  Coming back a week later and they had a couple of offices opened in the new building although you had to climb over rubble to get to them.
