June 13, 20188 yr Maybe they the BIB could post photos of the 1000 pretties so we can recognize from the multitude of other pretties that are not guilty of promoting gambling. I for one don't want to be tainted with the smell of their crimes.

Singapore casinos make their money mostly off 'tourists' (read: rich Chinese Indonesians). Singapore residents are discouraged from partaking. They have to pay $100 just to enter (free for non-residents) and they are tracked in the system. The whole point of the casinos is to draw money from outside of the country, not from the pockets of locals. I assume the websites referred to here are going after local 'customers' … very different kettle of fish. p.s. I know three Thais in Singapore who have lost big at the casinos... at their request, I submitted ban applications for two of them. It's a big problem..

June 13, 20188 yr Surely, if the websites are operating from outside Thailand, the only thing they can do is block them. Looking closer to home, how about snooker, buffalo racing, cock fighting and many more. The police are players in card schools!

Nonsense. Misplaced priorities, and wasted efforts. They should be focusing their efforts on traffic and public safety, easing import tariffs, making visa policy simpler, and more friendly, boosting Western tourism, real crackdowns on slavery, and illegal fishing instead of nonsensical hyperbole, cleaning up the water, the air, the rivers, and the beaches, and other things that actually improve lives. Busting the "pretties" who advertise for gambling. What nonsense. The elite are allowed gamble all they like. As openly as they want. As usual, it is the little guy that Little P. is going after. Little P. - Not making Thailand great again. And moving the nation backwards at an astonishing and alarming pace. What you are asking them to do is hard, and Thais do not do hard.

However, I do remember a thread on here earlier this year where one poster thought that the sun shone out of P's backside because he had helped the farmers?! Didn't elaborate on the "help". In my mind, all that 'P' has accomplished (for Thai peoples) was to stop the rioting and bloodshed on the streets. Little significant else. Oh yes, he has done "other things" but for who's monetary benefit? My scepticism knows no bounds sometimes 5555 He has released some cracking songs to be fair to him.
June 13, 20188 yr It's news like this that makes Thailand the laughing stock of the world as far as law enforcement (which is negligible and corrupt) is concerned. And it's a total waste of police resources when the end result is not going to make any difference to anything. Authorities need to get their heads around that the free televised World Cup for Thais is a massive world-wide sports competition, and their best shot for media coverage and revenue arising from advertising publicity would be to embrace it. Or are they all ostriches?

June 13, 20188 yr Thailand would do well creating a gambling zone, a new Las Vegas, in an area in need of thousands of jobs. It would also divert a lot of those Chinese your buses! But will they? I wouldn't get on it.

Point taken, on the other hand gambling in Thailand, and it seems to especially be football gambling causes enormous social downside; can't pay the rent, kids not getting enough food etc etc. Bottom line the government, the cops have to try to handle multiple problems at the same time. You do of course make a very valid point about forcing people to obey the traffic rules, reducing accidents and death etc. Well said.

June 14, 20188 yr Seeing as the BIB is interested in gambling I will do my public duty and snitch. Anywhere there is Muay Thai boxing or chicken fighting there will be gambling. So save your efforts on chasing pretties and go raid the aforementioned dens of illegal gambling, I mean the ones you do not own, have a partner in, the wife owns, the social club runs or just getting a good kickback from, there must be one somewhere. On gambling and sin in general, you can make it illegal, but you cannot make it unpopular. Make it legal and regulate and the criminal element will become much less involved. Cheers
June 14, 20188 yr Good grief!! What a complete waste of everything. I have a DREAM that Thai police will do something useful and wonderful in my lifetime. 5555. Like I should live THAT long.
June 15, 20188 yr It's a pity that they do not invest time looking for the high-powered people that are running the Online Gambling. Wonder why that is?
June 15, 20188 yr If the Boys in Brown are only using the "pretty" photos for their search, surely some percentage of the 1,000 will never be found.
