Has this been established?  I thought the suit had just been filed.

Yes it has been established. Trump has already had to pay back money and penalties for some of his fake charitable expenditures.

  • No, it cannot be - I mean that would be using the charity to benefit Mr Trump - and he is an honourable man.   Could it be that he was using the cash for funding research into the debilitati

Hopefully the court case will determine the truth.

Personally, I trust very few charities as way too much of their income is spent on 'admin'....

Time for the politicians to crack down on charities that benefit those running the charity - far more than the supposed recipients.

That's besides the point. In Trump's case he made allegedly charitable donations that benefiteded himself.

I said this in my post:-

"Hopefully the court case will determine the truth."

Spending charity money to benefit those in charge is far from new - and needs to be stopped.

why isn't Eric Schneiderman still pursuing the case?

That's why charities are audited (by independent third parties) and, if anything seems out of the ordinary, investigated.

You are entirely right, Trump supporters whining about him being held accountable to the law.

Let’s be very clear about this.

There credible reports of some charities but by absolutely not all charities spending too much money on high salaries and high administration costs.

These particular allegations against Trump and his family do not relate to high salaries or high administration costs, they relate to illegal remove of donations, illegal use of donations, fraudulent accounting, obtaining donations by deception.

These allegations are not about poor or inept management they relate to criminality.

Dick Dasterdly is parroting campaigns run by the rightwing press in the UK that tar all charities with the excesses of a very few.

The Trump ‘charity’ in question is established in NY and as you rightly point out subject to very stringent regulation.. as the Trumps are now discovering.

I'm hearing this case will probably end up in the supreme court. Now that will be interesting! Time for "trump" to release his tax records.

You forgot "perjury" when Trump affirmed on his tax returns that the non-profit did not make any political contributions.

Check out point 3 "Justice for All", the amateurish attempt to hide his criminal behaviour suggests he has got really careless or he believes he is untouchable.

That's exactly what he's getting done.

Yes.  They're really pissed about the historic Singapore Summit.

Historic for the Kim’s, they got everthing they wanted out of Trump.

But, but, but...what about the Clinton Foundation?  Trump say they should be "locked up".

Technically speaking, I don't think 'perjury" is the correct term. That applies to lying in a court or some other official public setting where you take an oath. Whatever it's called, it's definitely illegal.

In the American legal system, this would be the offence, I understand, for signing an untrue statement. In the British system, I believe the charge could be fraud by false representation, evasion of income tax or providing false information to HMRC.

The terminology differs between the two systems. Whatever you call it, it is illegal.

In other words don't trust him with 5 cents.

Self dealing and self diddling

"How Donald Trump Took Transactional Philanthropy to Its Logical, and Illegal, Extreme"  Even when he spends other people’s money, or makes a charitable donation in his own name, he’s always buying something. He’s what happens when transactional philanthropy is taken to its logical conclusion, divorced entirely from any kind of genuine generosity. "

How  long until he is up to  his  neck  in his  own  s**t ?  A stinking  pile  that  big  has the  potential to leave a  bad smell around  for a  long  long time.

Did you fall of your bike and hit something with your head before you had the helmet?
