PHUKET: A man driving an ice delivery pickup truck amazingly escaped serious injury after his pickup levelled a young mango tree then slammed into the back of a parked truck at high speed early this morning (June 15).

Maj Kitipom Tinthalang of the Thalang Police was called to the scene of the accident, near the branch of the Krung Thai Bank on Thepkrasattri Rd southbound in Thepkrasattri, Thalang, at 5am.

Maj Kitipom along with other officers and rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Foundation arrived to find just one man, the driver of the pickup truck, physically affected by the accident.

Here on Phuket very common to see much larger trucks delivering ice with several young well-cooled lads standing on the back bumper. Never see these at speed, usually just meandering down the streets with occasional delivery stop to annoy the traffic.

Yes, I'm here.  ?

These are the fools we share the road with everyday day here.

On this occasion, it was a tree and a parked car, who knows who, or what, it could have been, but there are many like this guy on the road here.

All minimum wage drivers, and everyone and / or everything they hit is collateral damage, whilst profits are being made.

No end to the road carnage on Phuket.
