Static Password and One Time Password

Featured Replies

I used to be able to book a flight from wherever I was and with whichever country provider using a static password. I just tried to book a Nok Air flight but, apparently, static passwords are no longer used. Hence my card was blocked and I had to contact Kasikorn to reactivate it. As I have a Thai bank account the OTP can be sent to a Thai number, only.  Yhis is just a bit of venting as I don't understand why Thailand has to make easy things so awkward. The system with a static password worked well, but now due to who knows what, everything is more complicated. I now have to have a roaming account to do what I could previously do easily. WHY!

It's simple, Thailand is the only country that matters in the world, everywhere else is completely irrelevant.

"The system with a static password worked well"

No it didn't, not secure enough. So they upgraded it like they do in many countries.

The fact that you and the other commenter don't understand it doesn't make the Thai's stupid.

An irrelevant troll post has been removed.

My accounts in Thailand, UK, Isle of Man and Luxembourg all use some form of two-step authentication either with a code generating dongle, SMS one-time password or a physical call to my registered mobile.

It's a minor pain for the added security, and yes, it does mean I have to have roaming enabled on my Thai mobile.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
