Horrifying video shows GIANT snake trying to swallow Thai soi dog

Horrifying footage shows the moment a giant python tries to swallow a dog in Thailand.

The clip, which was uploaded to Facebook on Wednesday, shows rescuers battle to save the dog, which is still alive, from being swallowed whole by the snake.

Two men can be seen hitting the serpent repeatedly with sticks while another pulls at it in abid to free the dog.

The dog eventually manages to scamper free and appears relatively unhurt.

The snake then slithers away into the undergrowth.

The footage, uploaded by Facebook user Ake Srisuwan was filmed somewhere in Thailand, although it is not known exactly when the clip was recorded.

Kudos to the snake, I wouldn't eat a soi dog even if I was starving!

Good to see humans returning the favour to 'mans' best friend'.

Understand the snakes got to eat too, but am glad the Thai's that freed the dog, didn't kill the Python, a win/win situation of the dog and snake

Apparently they must have reckoned the soi dog would taste better then the snake

Actually, the 2 dogs involved didn't look like soi dogs?  I suspect that both were taken care of by the community, and possibly were pets?

There should be an immediate fast track  breading program set up

to get these snakes out into the community ASAP.

ok maybe not,   not so good for small children.

Unfortunately it did not have any success.

Not sure why they let a full set of luggage and a belt slither away.

Nice place to set up ur tent.

How about "Please release me, let me go" ?

Poor snake probably got rabies now

It's pity humans can't let nature take it's course. Just have to interfere. I'll bet that beautiful snake was killed too.

True, but they can go for up to 6 months without food, poor bugger 555

I want the snake in our Soi !!

My favorite part is the tail wagging in the earlier part of the big swallow.

Not what I would have expected. From the dog's POV do you think he could tell humans were trying to help?

I'm guessing they had five minutes to spare before leaving for the village cock-fight !

Also horrific. I'm no expert in being swallowed alive but I guess I had optimistically assumed such soon to be meals would mercifully go into unconscious shock  or something like that.
