The pay is crap, your freedom goes out the window etc. The only army I can think of that recruits high functioning kids is the Israeli army, because they are conscripted. There’s an interesting documentary (Vice, I think) on their cyber security skills. It appears that Israel are on top of their game in this field, with many businesses headed by ex military alumni. They identify kids at school and offer them positions in cyber security as part of their national service.
