Uk Air Passenger Duty

Featured Replies

I booked my ticket to Thailand back in November with Emirates. I've seen on the UK news that:

'Air passengers are having to pay an increased airport tax from Thursday, even if they bought their tickets before the announcement in December.' BBC News website.

I've been trying to find out if Emirates are charging passengers the extra tax who booked before the December announcement. I can't find a single list detailing which Airlines are charging and nothing is said on the Emirates website. So I called my travel agent who said I wouldn't have to pay the extra as I booked before December, but that contradicts the news announcements. :o

Has anyone flown from the UK with Emirates who booked before December but travelled after the announcement date?

Thanks

Well we could try putting shoes on your knees and giving you a teddy bear, we might just be able to pull it off :o

The increased APD takes effect from today and differs on not only between domestic and international but also between economy and business/first class..... effectively the closer you are to the pointed end the more you pay.
