LONDON, 22 June 2018 (NNT) – The Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, held talks with executives from leading companies in the United Kingdom (UK), presenting investment potentials in Thailand, especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

A group of executives from ARUP, HSBC, and Prudential met with Gen. Prayut on Thursday (June 21st) at Royal Lancaster Hotel in London to discuss investment plans and potentials in Thailand.

During this meeting, the Prime Minister elaborated on the government's investment supporting measures for foreign companies with equality, transparency, and good governance, to ensure fair competition and concrete outcome from investments yielding mutual benefits to both sides.

The Prime Minister reassured the foreign executives all investment plans will be proceeded continuously as they are supported by the national strategy, highlighting the EEC project, which will become a key economic driver of the country in the near future, with infrastructure plans in place to favour technological and innovative industries, as well as other environment-friendly projects.

ARUP has been investing in Thailand for some 20 years as a infrastructure construction giant. The company has expressed its interest to invest in the EEC.

HSBC, which is the world's biggest financial company, has expressed their interest in the PPP cooperation in the EEC for financial aspects.

Prudential is also interested on the development of insurance business and digital technology development which will help aid digital reformation of Thailand. The company has been working with the Ministry of Finance, and is looking to make more commitment in the education sector.

Looks like a cosy but rather stiff meeting. With the PM telling them of all his wonderful dreams and inviting them to float on the clouds with him and his junta friends.

While conveniently forgetting to mention that he has full power over investors investments with his Article 44 and that trade agreements can count for nought if he so chooses.

Now that's what I call good data compression. IBM, eat your heart out. Never was so much utter and complete BS compressed into so few coherent sentences.

If there was a Noble prize for "Twaddlery" this would be my nomination

The trouble with doing business in Thailand is that it starts off with "trust me"

Do other countries even know about section 44 . Not one contract in Thailand is worth the paper it's written on with 44 in charge. I'm surprised any foreign country would even contemplate large investment based on a thai handshake and a wink. They should remember all their laws about contracts and accountability and penalties, mean nothing in Thailand. If they all get burned, it serves them right for letting greed override sensibility and good reason.

U sir invest 100% of the capital and then u own 49% of it!
