September is normally a very rainy month. There really is a good chance of torrential rain some days - however it doesn't normally last all day.

When you say resort, could you be more specific about what you would like? Bangkok is a concrete jungle with millions of people. That said, there are some nice places.

How long are you staying for, and what do you want to do during your stay? All if these answers will affect the recommendations you receive.

My parents like to stay at this hotel:

Sukhumvit 12 Bangkok Hotel & Suites

It is very central but quiet because in some side alley almost at the end.
So no through traffic and noise from the main road.
If there wouldn't be the always present heat and humidity of Bangkok you almost forget you are in the middle of a city.

What price range for accomodation? What interests you about Thailand/Bangkok in particular?

Try typing in Google Search "Bangkok to see or do" - it will give you some choices. When you have a list perhaps come back here and ask other readers opinions.

While you are doing a Google search, also type in Bangkok Resort Hotels.

Many people like Sukhumvit area. The air pollution is bad there.Myself I enjoy Riverside area.BTS is easy plus the water taxi also.

Usually when I'm looking for a place to stay on vacation, I start with Agoda.  Type in the city, sort/filter for price range (and usually rating) and start browsing.  From there I narrow it down as far as area, places that look nice, reviews, etc.  I'm not sure if you can filter specifically for resorts?  Nor am I sure exactly how many you'll find in the city, unless the only amenities you want along that vein are a hotel bar and perhaps spa.

Probably a bit of a big job in Bangkok, though.

Bangkok is best taken in small doses.

Resort? Not a Bkk thing. Stay in an hotel on the skytrain route as the traffic is appalling.

Resorts everywhere outside Bkk, but do you prefer mountains or beaches?

Rain is usually only a couple of hours, but you could be unlucky. No crystal ball to predict. If it rains, just have something to eat in a nearby restaurant, and wait for it to stop. Can be extremely heavy.

If you want night life, plenty along Sukhumvit Rd.

Plenty to do in Bkk, but it's hot, hot, hot. Be prepared to sweat a lot.

What is affordable? Good places from 1200 a night to many thousands.

You don't give enough information to know what info to give you.
