This from a man who lacks the courage to throw his hat in the ring to contest his own rigged election.

  • Thaksin should reply that he'll come back if Prayut gives up his self imposed amnesty, and they can both take their chances. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Red Bull comes to my mind? Come back.

Edited by thailand49

He reels out this nonsense each month.

'I urge all parties concerned to help find them'

I'm not sure how many have fled die to criminal charges....I would guess not too many in the scheme of things.....but of course, the justice system would be heavily biased against them regardless.

But those that have fled due to LM charges, would be locked up immediately with no chance of an genuine court case.

Im sure he wants them back as much as a election next year!

Thaksin's and Yingluck's reaction after the PM's message:

My thoughts exactly. Son of Red Bull may be back already, but he doesn't face the music like he used to. Has to listen at one of daddy's villas. Life is hard

Prayut, who also heads the ruling junta, the National Council for Peace and Order, added that he was not referring to anyone in particular in making these remarks.

Bit of a stretch but I'll try and believe it. Simply in order to make the point that Thaksin and Yingluck are not the only exiles and the other ones are not ensconced in 5 start luxury.

Ko Tee for instance who it has been suggested was "disappeared" in Laos. (yes, I know he's not a hero but does he deserve assassination?)

Academics and activists such as Giles Ungpakorn -whose father was exiled as Rector of Thammasat after the 1976 massacre. And this brings to mind the man who has been called the father of modern Thailand, Pridi Banomyong, one of the leaders of the 1932 overthrow of the absolute monarchy, PM, regent , founder of Thammasat  (although in typically timid fashion if you visit his statue at Thammasat you will not see the fact that he died in exile on the story of his life. Likewise with the portrait and statue of Puey Ungpakorn at Thammasat'sman libraary. No unpleasant facts . And if you believe his son, the painting in the foyer of the library named after him has some added detail that tells lies about  his political beliefs to make them more palatable..

There are many others, most more obscure than those mentioned in  this article http://www.malaysiakini.com/

Thai politics should not just be reduced to Thaksin v. the army. Many others have suffered for having the courage to express their beliefs and I long for the day when they can return home to the honours they deserve.

PM tells Thaksin to return and have their day in court

Thaksin asks PM: Once you yourself are in exile after being convicted of crimes by a new government, would you return? Don't answer now, answer next year...

I am having a problem with the photo. Is that the real PM Prayut or is it the cardboard cut-out PM? Very difficult to tell sometimes.

Either way, they are both becoming more paranoid by the day.

Both seem to have the same inner qualities but maybe the cut-out version comes out in front by a small degree.

I'd say:  cardboard...

And when will they stop talking about exile and call it what it is. A criminal who fled the law.

True, but the law is irrelevant  to anyone with money and influence  in Thailand.

Thaksin will never go to prison nor will his sister or the Red Bull cop killer.

Most Thais dont care. If he comes back he will win an election in a landslide. Prayuth is a corrupt 3rd world army thug who has milked Thailand for everything its worth.

the justice system here is politicized, even the current dim-wit number 1 knows that; it serves whomever is in power at the time; more bs from him; the wrong guy for the job

I would take it further. Yes the justice system is politicized, but it actually serves one particular political faction, it openly opposes the other faction, even when it is in power.

Many things in Thailand are "criminal" which are not crimes anywhere else. Besides, Thaksin and his sister were railroaded by forces who oppose a more equitable society.

Being Chinese decedents, Thaksin family should look for China's help, as Thai-China relationship is better than US and EU countries at the moment.

It’s the kettle calling the pot black ?

I think that's fair enough?

S orry , he has left the country because he could and did, until a court of LAW has found him guilty, he and his sister, then it is al;leged he is a criminal, but then in the eyes of  the world he has committed CIVIL offences NOT CRIMINAL .

Forgotten, or overshadowed?

Overshadowed by a General who seized power in a coup - a coup which forestalled an entirely constitutional election, mandated by a proclamation of the authority which he had sworn allegiance to - rather a definition of treason there. Incidentally he frequently denied he would do this, right up until the moment he "spontaneously" did so.

Overshadowed by then, having seized power in a coup, installing himself as the head of a junta, and nominating himself as Prime Minister. Incidentally he frequently denied he would do this, right up until the moment he "spontaneously" did so.

Overshadowed by decreeing "the mother of all amnesties" for himself and his cronies; no need to rely on the judicial system which he so self rightously urges others to submit to then.

Overshadowed by ruling by decree, persistently delaying repeatedly promised elections, and persistently denying all but his chosen supporters any political freedoms.

Overshadowed by his clumsy, largely ineffective but sometimes vicious attempts to control freedom of speech on those media which are not directly controlled by him and his cronies.

Overshadowed by his barefaced lies in speaking on behalf of other nations who he claims "understand, approve and support him and his strutting posturing antics", which nations invariably are remarkably silent in the face of his burbling.

So perhaps overshadowed rather than forgotten, except of course by those of you who regard all of the above to be small beer, and a negligible price for getting rid of a political figure that you don't like. No matter that he and his party have been the consistent choice of the Thai electorate for nigh on twenty years now.

I know it has all been said before, but it does rather seem to have been forgotten...

The junta did raided the reserve treasury blind and left with almost nothing. Treasury that was well funded by previous government.

Billions of dollars and a second class citizen? That's a good one.??

Wrong, as far as the Thai bureaucracy is concerned we are not citizens, just barely tolerated guests.

Yes, it is one big farce. Thai 'justice' fair, impartial and legal?

And I've got a nice new bridge to sell you on Neptune!

The junta would love Thaksin to come back before the election. That would enable them to eliminate the largest threat to their grand scheme of installing themselves as the proxy government.

News like this is obviously propaganda.

It's targeting the shins.

Why would he waste time targeting the shins unless he is afraid of them?

“Why did you care about him? You would do better caring about someone who is working for the country now,” Prayut said, without naming anyone.

Is sound like he doesn't get enough attention from the media!

While I would agree with you regarding 'criminal' I would have wrote '...who was allowed to flee....'

Is picture of Prayut, the tourist policeman BIG JOKE, in disguise?  It fits the scenario:clap2:
