Been to Bumrungrad with Dr Charuspong Dissaranan who diagnosed and suggested the surgery but want to get a second opinion and make sure the doctor who performs the surgery has a lot of experience with it. You can certainly ask him how many prcedures he has done. Most varioceles do not require treatment. Is yours causing you pain or is there an infertilty issue? I got a second opinion at Bangkok Hospital and the doctor disagreed with the gradings and also saying surgery is not required depending on Sperm Analysis. He said he is not sure why the initial doctor suggested surgery. Getting a 3rd opinion from a UK urologist to confirm the ultrasound. Slight pain occasionally. Not sure about fertility. As mentioned most varioceles do not require treatment. You'll have to decide if the slight pain on occasion is reason enough.This is not a hard diagnosis to make.
