My 512/256 Ipstar service by Loxinfo has been pretty good fpor the last few months, but has suddenly deteriorated in the last 2 - 3 days.

I have always had periodic crashes throughout the day, but now it has become ridiculous - sometimes crashing every minute or so, reconnecting then crashing again. It has also got progressively slower, and about ten minutes ago my Thai Visa download/upload speeds were: D/L 55; U/L 140.

2 minutes later it was D/L 113; U/L 45. One minute after that it crashed and is still down. I am connected through dial up which is actually responding faster than Ipstar was.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems lately?

I will try calling them to see what's up. :o

It has been bad for two or three days but this morning it was so bad I could not even get a test site to work. This evening it is down loading 391kbps from Speakeasy at Seattle and 283 from TV Broadband test. It's not good and keeps re booting even after they diddled around with my gateway settings last week.

Amazing!

Broadband speeds at 9 p.m.:

D/L 412; U/L 208

I wonder if they read the Thai Visa Forum?

Have to complain more often. :o

See what happens tomnorrow. :D

I've had IPSTAR for about 6 months now and it's been utter crap the entire time. Finally able to get a local wifi system up and running connected to TOT DSL and it's 4X faster per TV test and MUCH more reliable. The customer service of IPSTAR is NON EXISTANT sometimes taking a week to respond. Needless to say, I've cancelled it but they have yet to come and take their worthless crap out of here (rural MHS province).

Amazing! Those speeds are a *lot* better than the *utter bull* I've been getting from Loxinfo's SME ADSL for the last few months. UTTER COMPLETE HORRIBLE hel_l. No, it's not my line, since local speeds are fine. Tests to speakeasy during the day yield less than 100k (1mbit line). During the night, it's fine, but... I'm not a frickin owl, and I'm paying for the SME package for this kind of performance.

I've switched to True, which gives similar performance (no surprise here), but at least I'm paying only half as much.

Its utter garbage, and they have the cheek to charge so much for this joke of an ISP. Its took me 5 minutes, just to reply to this post!

I went to TOT office today to see what is going on, they told me there is no customer service center to call, the told me to call the guy who installed it, and its quite obvious he hasn't got a clue, he just installs satellites. i did call him and he said there is a problem with the gateway in Bangkok, he said it will start to get better in four days, which is the 26th of March.

I am paying 2,600 a month for 1MB which equates to 650THB a week which is very expensive. I haven't had full use of my connection for nearly a week now, so I should be entitled to a reduction on my bill in my view.

If all IPStar customers get together, there must be something we could do? Maybe petition the broadcast licensing people , I forget the correct name but its on here somewhere

Anyone remember that I've my "fight" with CS-Loxinfo?

OK, I WON and was getting back the money I've paid to them, finally from the Provincial Court at Samut Prakarn!

The results from using IP-Star Service SME 512/256 5 fixed IP's:

Downloads: 95%+ corrupt packages;

Uploads: 1 E-mail + 1 Attachment 1 MB = 5 hour 50 min!

Speeds: Down "normal" app. 100 kbps(kilo bits), Upload "normal" 5 - 30 kbps (kilo bits)

VoIP: Impossible

Remote connection for service: Impossible

System: Reboots automatically up to every 2 min or less, on a "normal" day within 8 hour 140 times +

Cost per month: Baht 4,939.00

CS-L Service: 1 time 1 call 5 1/2 hour voice system messages, no any human answer; 3 weeks not any answer via telephone; 3 month of "testing" the systems from the "engineers" staff of CS-L which I should pay (I DON'T)

and, and, ..................., and!!

After I received the Refund, I've to offer them a "storage cost" of Baht 500 per day that they pickup the "old" system because they submitted a letter to the court at Samut Prakarn that they want to start a "new" criminal court case against me if I not return the system within 15 day after refund!

May I try to signup n ew with them??

As I have read a lot comments from users of IP-Star, all of them was paying a lot and get: LESS THAN A LITTLE!

Move to TOT IPstar instead, much cheaper and fantastic service and performance. I am very happy with it, using their 2MB down/1MB up corporate package (available to private persons as well). I get about 70-80% of the promised speed.

I'm slightly confused here. Are you on Loxinfor Ipstar or TOT Ipstar?

As previously posted, I'm on the 512/256 Loxinfo package which costs 4,400 Baht per month.

I have to say that's it's been pretty good for say - 80 % of the time over the past few months, and any time it gets really bad, I phone them - at any hour of the day or night - and the service usually improves more or less immediately. They seem to have the ability to move bandwidth around on an individual customer basis. Every time I call, they advise they will monitor my account, and as I say, the service improves straight away.

I've just done a Thai visa speed test and its 437 DL; 110 U/L

This is completely different to what it used to be in terms of bandwidth, and response to phone calls. They even admitted to me onot long ago, that they had run out of bandwidth but it should be fixed within a week or so, and it was. There was a time a few months ago when I could have murdered them.

I'm still thinking about switching to TOT, as it's much cheaper, but am reluctant to rock the boat while it's going well.

George, how much is your TOT business package?

2Mbit down/1Mbit up

7,700 Baht plus VAT 7%, but for me it is worth it as we are several people sharing it.

Did you note when you called them;

they seemed to read from a cheet sheet or script?

if you asked a question out of their cheet sheet order they would ask the same question 10 minutes later?

when you told them the answer 4 questions ago they ask you again?

when they do know what to ask next they will tell you about on site service by a tech guy?

So after they said they will send a tech guy for XXX baht, who was no further ahead than I was, I asked him to pay me xxx baht for my waste of time and he laughed. But there again so did I, tit!

My question is 'does the help desk read "script readers" re-read "call center full of non-technical people" know how to answer a simple question?'

Reimar, you must start a new topic about that one, the story in full of your experience at taking a Thai ISP to court and winning would make good reading. How much it cost you to take it to court and if you ended up in front at the end of the day.

I wouldn't!

One thing is that this "game" is over already! Who want to know, who should read my old post's about this but also take a look at the answers from the members of this forum! Al Info, include the a copy of the Court Decission was posted on TV from me in the past.

A other things is that I've learned a lot from this case and a second one against TRUE! I've learned that the behavior of some human in connection with others more negative than positive. Special in the case against TRUE, some of the members od this forum wasn't willing to understand that I've and will at first take care for my safty and security before the one for other human! Read my old post related to the TRUE Story and you'll understand! There was even one member of this forum who offered help to me but while on an little unsave way for me, I explained to hiom and shows a way which I can go, no more any answer. IO found out later that this member is working for TRUE!!

Someone offered to take some 100 human together to go to demontrate and I answered that OK for me and I will stand on top of this demo if HE get the 100 humans together! Answer: Not any! Because the fact is: Many have (maybe) a good idea but not willing to do something by themself! Many try to push others but will not do anything bey themself! Many have a very big mouth but do in reality: NOTHING! Many want to get everything for FREE but giving back something: NO! Many want to get all information, even if this is unsafe and maybe dangerous for that person who carries this information, and if they don't get what they want, start to act agressive and shouting against the informant!

That's the true world, even on this forum. If don't believe, read my old post's, special the one against TRUE while they was submitting a Trojan with them CD's to the customers!

I am paying 2600THB for 1mb/512 with TOT which is still expensive comparatively. I used to be with CS Loxinfo and there service was total crap, as others will testify, it didn't work most of the time. I am now using TOT IPStar, it started out poor than gradually improved and is now back to be poor again.

I just give up, I really do
