Tourist attraction; As soon as the boys are out of danger, the Tourism Authority of Thailand plans to start a promotion to attract tourists to the Tham Luang cave.

What a brilliant plan , please keep al rescue equipment at the spot.

Might be in need again soon.

TAT at their best.

Another horse and stable door crackdown

  • There is nothing charming about boats sinking with not nearly enough life vests, cars without safety - belts, blocked safety exits or park- rangers actually not giving a #$%@ about their job! Eas

The wake-up call for the government, especially the military since this is a military government, should be that it lacked both good topographical data and firsthand knowledge of the cave. And this in a border district with all kinds of security concerns. While it was encouraging to see good international cooperation, still it's embarrassing to the army that it had to rely on the firsthand knowledge of a few foreign amateur spelunkers rather than its own ranks of surveyors. Put those guys to work.

I hadn't realised how close it is to the border. Yes, I know it's Mae Sai, but some Thai media were suggesting some paths in the cave could be used by smugglers to avoid the border?

Had the football team found another path and were now safe in Burma? - that was being suggested earlier.

As you say, yes it's embarrassing the army doesn't seem to know what's going on, right on the border.

So good bye to any of the pristine natural spots still left in national parks that aren't already restricted to VIP and tour companies with <deleted> loads of money to bribe rangers and officials. All caves to be lit up like birthday cakes, every mountain will have metal stairs, all waterfalls shall be paved so BKK pretty people don't get their feet soiled as they attempt to take selfies.

No worries, that would cost lots of money, not gonna happen....
