Popular Post Justgrazing
Motogp returns today with the opening round of the 2021 season in Doha .. Joan Mir the champ' stays with Suzuki .. Rossi is now on the satellite Petronas Yam' with protege Morbidelli his teammate , Fabio Quatararo going the other way and getting the works M1 alongside Mav' Vinales .. Ducati have a strong line up with the works and satellite teams running 6 bikes in total .. Fran' Bagnaia and Jack Miller getting the factory kit .. KTM have managed to hang on to Brad Binder , one of the rising stars of last season alongside Mig' Oliviera and Aprilia have Aleix Espargo as top rider .. Honda have the greatest headache with Marc Marquez still not able to resume after his crash last year leaving Espargo's brother Pol to fly the H flag with Stefan Bradl .. Honda tried Marquez's younger Bro' Alex but he could not master the RCV to the level of Marc so has been shipped out to the sat' LCR team .. Honda even looked at one of their test riders as a stand in ( Katayama I think ) to overcome the Marquez loss but to no avail so Bradl and Espargo shoulder the responsibility of putting the world's biggest bike maker back on top .. First part of the season seems to be Europe centric with the Asia-Pacific rounds towards the end .. Should be a good one with hopefully no more horrendous crashes like we seen last year .. Popular Post kickstart
When you get a company like WAE on board, you can be assured of performance that'll make all your wrinkliest skin even wrinklier. And indeed, the TE-1 prototype is designed for an absolutely wild ride. The 10-kg (22-lb) motor, from Integral Powertrain, will put out a peak of 130 kW (174 hp) and continuous power of 80 kW (107 hp), and the 360-volt WAE battery pack is capable of up to 170 kW (228 hp), putting sub-20 minute 0-80 percent charge times on the table. Battery capacity is 15 kWh – a little bit more than Zero's SR/F offers, so while Triumph has made no range claims as yet, we'd expect somewhere around 124 miles (200 km) between charges. Then again, WAE and Integral seem very excited about their contributions to the project, the former claiming a "quantum leap" in energy density and weight reduction, and the latter claiming to "set new standards in terms of electric motorcycle efficiency," so the final range figures, if they're given to us in a format we can actually compare against Zero's real-world figures, will be very instructive. Re the electric Triumph ,the above figures look good ,except 124 miles between charges ,that would be from my flat in Northampton to London ,a run round looking for a charging point ,your battery charge needle would be well in the red ,ok a sub 20 minute charge time ,a cup of tea and a sandwich. With all the know how still can not see it catching on . But ,I can remember London -Nottinghamshire vie the A1, a Suzuki GT 380 stroker,2 up in a headwind , 80 mile to a tank full,................maybe second thoughts.

Based on a 750 Benelli Sei from the mid 70's to the early 80's ( 900cc by then ) the exhausts have been made to replicate the system on the Honda though the standard Sei had a church organ of a setup anyway .. Here's another modded one that's been put up on this thread before and a standard Sei in the most popular colour they came in ..

Justgrazing
Fabio Quatararo is justifying his promotion to the works Yamaha team with 2 wins at the opening Doha and Portugese G P's .. The Portugal race also seen the return of Marc Marquez after 10 mths out from his huge off at the Spanish G P last summer coming in 7th in the end .. Unfortunately El Vale Rossi who took Quat's seat at the satellite Petronas team has failed to finish twice .. even his qualifying times were well off pace .. Fab's inspecting the kerb pointing .. M'n'M's much awaited return .. Edited April 30, 2021 by Justgrazing
Justgrazing
Bienville Legacy .. beautifully made and wacky as duck .. the front forks have a Confederate Wraith look to them apart from the spring which is the red thing running the length of the bike ( single leaf made of fibre ) .. the engine is a 1800cc Motus V4 mounted north/south and rated at about 175 hp though by all accounts a supercharger was considered as well .. gulp .. The headlight/speedometer is an absolute work of art ..
Popular Post Justgrazing
Marsh MR4 .. inspired by the Gilera and MV 4 banger racers of the early 50's this was handbuilt by marine engineer Fred Marsh in the mid 50's on a budget of 200 quid .. said to utilise the cyl head design of the recently released Triumph Terrier to give it the wide valve angle .. more Brit' bits included a Norton gearbox , Douglas frame , Ariel forks and Oldani brakes .. a lot of the fabrication and machining was carried out in his spare time at the shipyard he worked and at home in his garage Allen Millyard style .. Long since past has Fred but the bike has recently been restored and was being considered for auction again at Bonham's ..
