Thai media reported that one of the three British rescue team members at the Tham Luang cave will be going back to London on Thursday.

Robert Harper was flying back to Bangkok on Thai Smile WE 135 before going on Thai Airways TG 910 to the UK capital.

Thai Rath said it was a case of "thank you and see you again".

Meanwhile a Facebook post on the page of Ratchasi Jitasa suggested that old Vietnam war telephone technology was proving effective in connecting the Mu Pa Academy team with their loved ones outside, reported Daily News.

The old tech is owned by the Thai Army and is proving useful once again. Its specifications are TA 312/PT and SB22/PT.

I hope that Thai gives him a free upgrade.

You would think that would be a given. I can see a lot of wai-ing going on at the airport before he departs.

Don't know about upgrade but all 3 divers was flying in business class from LHR to BKK.

So, the return flight should be in the business class also.

I don't understand what the first half  of the headline has to do with the second.

The usual journalistic shortcut. My observation is that the subtleties of the English language escape more and more native speakers (not to mention the non-natives).

I read in an earlier article that Thai Airways paid for all three of their tickets.

Yes, Thairath and Khaosod have reports on the trip home of Charlie Harper (in Thai language).

Some photos in a German forum.

Of course ThaiSmile and ThaiAirways provided the tickets (I couldn't find a hint on class or the like).

Mr. Harper was shuttled in a van to the airport.

Misc. big fish from (tourist) police, the tourist minister (in civil servant uniform), ThaiAirways management did the farewell.

He was escorted to the plane door by the tourist minister, some top cop (region 2 commander?) and entourage.

He also got same framed "Certificate of Appreciation".
