I can see a lot of wai-ing going on at the airport before he departs.

It is waterproof, simple, rugged, doesn't need hi-tech just a pair of wires and is easy to work with. Just what is needed down in the cave.

Don't know about upgrade but all 3 divers was flying in business class from LHR to BKK. So, the return flight should be in the business class also.

The man is a hero!
Popular Post Tradewind777
Great job Mr Harper. You saved lives at the risk to your own. A debt of gratitude is appropriate.

My observation is that the subtleties of the English language escape more and more native speakers (not to mention the non-natives).

Yes, Thairath and Khaosod have reports on the trip home of Charlie Harper (in Thai language). Some photos in a German forum. Of course ThaiSmile and ThaiAirways provided the tickets (I couldn't find a hint on class or the like). Mr. Harper was shuttled in a van to the airport. Misc. big fish from (tourist) police, the tourist minister (in civil servant uniform), ThaiAirways management did the farewell. He was escorted to the plane door by the tourist minister, some top cop (region 2 commander?) and entourage. He also got same framed "Certificate of Appreciation".
