Does any have experience with income verification in Chiang Mai? I'm applying for the Change to Non O and retirement. I have a monthly deposit from investment accounts in a US bank. I'm planning too get an Income Affidavit from the US Consulate and taking 6 months of bank statements. Do you think this will be sufficient? What is the additional  stamp from a Thai office on the Affidavit that I've been reading about?

The US consulate or the embassy ask for nothing but your passport when you do the income affidavit.

I don't recall Chiang Mai immigration asking for backup proof for income affidavits.

The additional stamp is not required in Chiang Mai or at most immigration offices. There are few offices near Bangkok that want the consular officers signature on the proof of income (letter, declaration, affidavit and etc) verified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA.

I am not sure how accurate that post is. I have not seen any posts other than the OP in the topic to confirm it.

This an exert from FB visa page. They accepted eventually but he had to come back with Bank statements

My brother just retired in Chiang Mai,I met him in Bangkok took him to the US Embassy and got his notarized financial certificate, the told him at immigration it wasn’t good they needed his bank statements.Has that happened to anyone else it’s a first for me.
I told him just print out a bank statement showing SS deposits that what they want to see I’m going tomorrow will see if they take my letter.

the Lady accepted a screenshot of his bank account showing his SS deposit
