For someone so apparently bright, this bloke comes across incredibly thick sometimes.

A meaningless and rather childish statement (but not surprisingly) as a result of being caught with his pants down - nothing more, nothing less....:coffee1:

Vern was right, ... Musk was wrong. F' him. ...

And as others here have noted, it is this thinking that Thailand is all sex and inequality, to cut to the chase, is deplorable.

I go home to Australia, Adelaide, the half hour city, though and a bit more now. ... The nicest middle class city in the world. ... And my friend W introduces me to every one as, ...  "Oh, this is Mark, and he lives in Thailand" ! ... And I cringe and get ready to deflect, all of the upcoming Direct, and in direct attacks from the Australian Women ! ... And then ... or just quietly, later on just say to W ... "Now W, that is naughty, you know that you are just trying to cause trouble, fora bit of free entertainment, ... I come from ... Blar Blar in Adelaide ... Right" ... (W has really REALY bad polio, and it is killing her, so every one lets her off .... usually, ...  for doing this)

Have any of you been stopped by the pedo police in the Australian airports ? ... I do not think they exist any more,  as a random questioning of people with the wrong stamps in their passport, as I heard that after 2 million dollars spent ...  they were disbanded, as they had not actually caught any one.

But well back in ? 2000 and something it was "Good morning Mr S" ... "You have a lot of Cambodian stamps in your passport, .... why is that"  .... A "Well I like Cambodia"

I was researching there society and how it had recovered after the civil war, not looking for chilren, and I had heard that all of the Pedos had moved on to vietnam by then any way.

...  "So where do you live" ... She (Ethnic = Italian I think) ashed,  ...... A "Thailand" ... , "So why do you live there Mr s" ... A "Because I have a wife there"

... "Oh, so why didn't you bring her with you"  ? ... like I think that you would get done for descrimination if you asked an Australian woman that question ? ...

But ... A "Because I could not afford to" ... "Oh, so how does she like that"

... and well, I just looked at her slowly and long, with "Just how could you be so F'n Stupid"  tattoed across my for head !!! ... And then replied "Well she hates it"  .... and then it was ... "oh thank you Mr S, have a nice holiday in Australia"

My Brother just laughed, and told me about them wasting the 2 million, and then being wound up ... and he just said ... "Well you gave her the correct answer didn'nt you"  .... Har Har. ... and I have never seen them again. Thank Goodness.

... But this all,  and biased Dick head comments like Musk's, just really piss me off.

Forget about his sub. What he actually brought to the table was expertise and money. Really that was what he was about. The Pom sounds like a hard critic, yeah the sub may have never worked, but once Musk was there. He had a lot more on the table then just the sub. If they asked for financial help I believe he would have given. They should both pull their heads in. Its over. Sticks and stones!

Fact is nobody wants pedos. Call it whatever you want. What Vern did for the cave rescue was a noble task.

Elon s mini sub was a PR stunt welk timed.

Elon is getting hot in the U.S. and looks for new pastures.

Thailand 's cave issue came in handy.

Usual rhetorics that followed.

A Tesla made in Thailand is cheaper than made in the U.S.

For the same reason Swarovski employs 20000 in LOS saving hundreds of Millions annually.

Should stick to making cars he can't sell.

Quite the contrary. Not sure what your sources are. He is oversold on the model 3. The issue is not selling the cars. The issue is making enough of them faster. Sales have been brisk.

His not defaming anybody the Brit opened his trap no need. To insult a intelligent business man.

Yeah, and when you suggest sticking a mini-sub into a small orifice, all intelligent conversation has ended. There's no defamation here. It's just heated banter in the heat of the moment. This can happen to the best of human beings... saying things in anger you later wish you hadn't.

Many of us won't accept that Thailand is not well-regarded by outsiders (for mostly good reasons). I avoid telling anyone that I have been based here as not doing so would open me up to unnecessary attacks.

Hmmm. Trouble getting my head around that. I'll try again in a coupla days.

Dont get pissed - its pretty normal that we are not able to understand a genius as a genius not understand us. Its this difference that matters and make the whole difference so the humanity in the future can travel in the Outer Space where this meaningless statement trigged in affect of an emotional selfdefence are all gone, barried and forgotten...

How sad when 13 people’s lives were in danger and he has to come out with such a disgusting allegation over one of the brave divers who went in and rescued them . The fella should be awarded “ Turd of the Month “

???????

What was the role of this Vern guy in the operation? He is too old for being a diver. So I am almost sure he did not risk his life.

Yes Defiantly worth watching it that you do not Plead Guilty, by commenting, ... when you are NOT Guilty. ... Like plenty of people like Kicking targets.

Was Vern Gay ? Not ethically relevant, but well, I have a very Homosexual friend in Changmai, and he reckons that it is the Gay Strip, ... of Thailand, - ... (So if that statement does not get me kicked, or deleted, I do not know what will), but well, is he Gay ? ... Like gay People get unfairly attacked like this a lot, and well I see some one called Musk a Homophob also ...)

Any way I am not interested in Space Travel, as I think that most people with their feet firmly on the ground are not, and I see Musk as just a Rude Axxxxxx, ... Like other rich people, (Not mentioning the T Axxxxx) , that think that they are something, but well, when it comes down to it, ...  they just have Psychological problems ...and Money.

I hope that Tesla Corp shares drop 5% today because of this ? Almost time to have a look.

Vern was the one who timely pushed the alarm button through his note to the authorities as a guidance for which Cave diver Professionals to be contacted asap.

There are many comments in this thread claiming he was a diver rescuing people from the cave. He was not.

What do you mean by "I have a very Homosexual friend in Changmai? I assume you are a gay or you are not a gay as you have hetero or not hetero - I dont consider my self as "very" hetero, but just hetero or maybe I have missed something…??...

Pls as well do not forget that we are all "Homo" (Sapiens) - including Mr Elon Musk…:whistling:

British caver Vern Unsworth, 63, who lives in Chiang Rai, was instrumental in linking up the Thai authorities with the British experts. "I was actually scheduled to go into the cave on June 24 anyway," Unsworth told CNN in an interview in Thailand."I got all my gear ready, and I was going in to do a solo trip just to see what the water levels were like. And I got called out at 2 o'clock Sunday morning, and I was there for the whole 17 days."
Unsworth's role in the rescue was also pivotal because of his intimate knowledge of the Tham Luang cave system, which he describes as his "second home" after spending the past six years exploring it.
He had been involved in cave rescue operations in the UK before, but "nothing on this scale."

t was Unsworth who initally pinpointed where he thought the Wild Boars team would be waiting. They were found 200 meters away from that point, which was "probably around about the best place they could have been," he said.

In the early days of the search operation, Unsworth said he quickly realized that outside expertise was required, and advised the Thai authorities to bring in specialist cave divers who had dealt with similar rescues in the past.
"It was a race against time," he said. "They needed world class divers and that's what we got."
He was the first one to suggest calling for help from Volanthen, Stanton and Robert Harper -- who arrived a few days into the search on June 27.

It does appear that he did dive but his main role was his knowledge of the caves.

No doubts that the foreign divers did a great job, but the press forgot to mention that were also Thai divers with them, and even before the farangs got here they were visiting and supporting the kids...and the Thai and farangs divers were very close to risk the kids lives thinking in making them to dive like professionals, or wait months for a rescue. They got lucky when an Aussie Doctor - Diver arrived and proposed to have the kids sedated, and took the BIG responsability in take care of that part. To sedate kids in that age was very risky action, that only can be done by a special doctor with previous experience. This doctor was the real farang hero, the others, including the Thai divers, did what they know and did it very well.

They  used a strecher, just because it was what they had available.

Well before all this, Elon Musk  was asked to help. If Elon Musk was here few days before the start of the diving operation, probably his flexible "submarine" system with few changes was used, because no doubts it was safer than a strecher in many ways.

The exchange of nasty words was unnecessary and disgusting.

I thought that Stanton and Volanthen found the kids.
