 Disappointed in EM.  I halfway defended his sub as a valid attempt at trying to be useful but now  I I'm not sure at all.   As for Americans with passports,. I think 100% of the Americans I know have passports except maybe my parents.  There is some sort of stigma associated when thing Americans you have been traveling to Thailand.  All this comes from some child smuggling shows that aired on TV in the last few years.   I know no other Americans who have traveled here except divers from my dive club 20 years ago.  The " scuba" diving has declined in quality from what I have seen.

I was looking at buying some Tesla stocks. Well realisticly they are a bad buy any way I think, but I will not even consider them now. ... ( on on ? Ali baba for people with manners. ( And brains ?) )... Buy them instead.

I like o'l Vern, but he sure doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed either. Insulting rich and powerful people in a media interview. What did he expect was going to happen?

I see what you mean ..... but why would we expect a cave explorer with the determination to launch an international rescue operation to be a polished PR expert?

 

Vern said what he thought - and in a world of carefully crafted sound bites delivered by PR trained politicians -  I admire him for that.

 

Musk on the other hand should know better - he's a public figure with a PR team behind him - his comments were outrageous and shameful, and the only consolation is that they will help his inevitable downfall.  The Washington Post has a great report on him today.

I think that when Elon Musk called the British cave diving and rescue expert, who just stated how quite obviously optuse his product was for cave rescue ... and the truth that it jusy was another publicity stunt,  "Pedo, Guy" ...  he was in directly, implying all of us Expats in Thailand are Pedos. ...

 

So I think that he and his products should be Austricised.

He was asked by who?   The Washington Post reported today that one of his 'twitter fans' suggested he could help - that was not exactly a request from the Thai team.  He invited himself to the party ... turned up late and with the wrong gift.

Musk is attacking not only Vern for being a pedo , he is attacking all of us who choose to call Thailand our homes.    Maybe Musk was thinking about the reputation of Thailand being a paradise for sexpats and also some men looking for underage sex.   

 

In my opinion Vern should take this further , find a good lawyer and sue his arse for a few milion dollars.  Vern like me been living in Thailand for many years and using the word pedo is a big insult .  

It's a big insult to all of us and Thailand.
