Non O multi entry expiry date 31 August

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My current Non O multi entry visa expiry date is 31 August 2018. I have to leave the country on the 4th September for 1 month (work). Is it possible to extend this visa so that the extension is still valid when I return to Thailand on the 4th October, by which time my funds (800,000 baht) will have matured, allowing me to apply for a 12 month visa extension based on retirement. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Assuming this is a visa (from a consulate outside Thailand) with an expiry (enter before / use by) date of 31/Aug/18 you could do a border hop for another 90 day entry then get a re-entry permit at the airport on the way out on your business trip.

If you have a Thai wife you could get a 60 day extension on your current entry to "visit your wife".

Hi Crossy thank you for your quick response. Just looking at my visa again yes the visa use before date is the 31st August. My last entry stamp is dated 4th September. I am married so the 60 day extension to "visit wife" would be a good option. Can this be applied for before leaving Thailand on the 4th September?

Many thanks,

Hopefully others will chime in on this @ubonjoe but IIRC you can apply any time within 30 days of the end of your current stay and the 60 days will bolt on to the existing permission, you need to take your wife and marriage documentation.

You will of course still need a re-entry permit, get a single at the same time as you get the extension.

Yep. Don't forget the Re Entry Permit or your 60 days will end when you leave.

1,900 Baht for the extension.

1,000 baht for the permit.

Crossy/Phuket Man,

Thank you for the advice. I had visions of having to apply for another Non O in a neighboring  country before I could proceed with a retirement extension.
