GOP leader mocked for tweet complaining of conservative censorship on Twitter

 

“Another day, another example of conservatives being censored on social media,” he tweeted. “[Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey] easy fix: explain to Congress what is going on. #StopTheBias.”

 

Twitter users were quick to point out that Ingraham’s tweet was covered up due to settings in McCarthy’s own Twitter account, not because of a company campaign to silence conservative voices.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy drew ridicule after claiming that he was unable to see a tweet because of censorship of conservative voices on social media – when the tweet was, in fact, withheld because of his own account settings. 

 

McCarthy took a screenshot of a tweet by Fox News host Laura Ingraham Saturday, which was covered by a warning of “potentially sensitive content.” 

 

The representative threatened to summon Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to Congress to explain “what is going on.”
