Hopf house 13/1 beach road, now called hopps I think. Best pizza there imo, followed by DOM  pizza soi 5 in pratumnak. Watch them spin and toss the bases and great toppings, plus the best wines glasses in Pattaya !

I went out of my way to try a pizza there. MEH.

I'd say OK if you live nearby.

I'm taking notes to find a half decent pizza for my next trip to Pat's.

Next to impossible to find a good pizza up where I am.   Soooo, same as sourcing good "chips",  unfortunately it has to come from my own kitchen...

Grottino  soi 33 naklua

It has been going for 12 years or so, Italian owner, at least 1 if not 2 Italian chefs.

Wood fired oven.

Has both inside air con area ( large ) and some tables outside which fill out quickly

Also other Italian dishes available.

I have been going there for years.

Pizza prices, from 200 to 380.

Never had a bad meal there. Always good to excellent, very consistent.

Current opening hours 3.00 PM to 12.30 AM. I don`t think they are interested in any lunch time trade

Service  and food  way above average.

Drinks prices are also a little  above average.

It beats Pizza Big  by a long shot IMO.

I can only agree on this, best pizza restaurant I've been to in Pattaya.  Great pizzas, great staff. Can highly recommend Grottino.

Sorry I haven't seen any difference in any pizza. The only difference could be topping but they all put the minimum possible, so I wonder how can anyone call a Pizza in Thailand good. Yes we can eat them, but there is nothing especially good about pizza in this country.

Ain't that the truth

Sometimes it comes down to a matter of taste.

Someone here mentioned a crispy base. That doesn't tell much.

So you will have your own expectations.

There are definitely differences.

In addition, if like me, you have access to the finest ingredients, you can bring the pizza up to spec ?

Of course not everyone has this option. They have to make do with what they can find.

The OP should specify the kind of pizza that he likes.

Some may expect their pizza to look like this;

Whilst another may expect this;

So one really needs to be specific for when it comes to pizza.

I wish someone would make a bacon, eggs, and baked beans pizza, used to get one in Scotland. The reason I never buy pizza is because I do not like any greens or tomatoes, or any other veg type stuff.

Come to think of it, there used to be a pizza place back home where you made up your own. They gave you the base, then you could fill it with a selection of your own choice, a sort of buffet. Then you gave it to them to cook.

The best one is the one you make yourself.

Bella Italia on Second Road near end of Beach Rd Soi 6 and their sister establishment Little Bella Italia on Soi 33 Naklua Rd. Crispy base, plenty of choice of toppings and 2 sizes available.

Agreed but with a twist, Bella Italia Second Rd and Gritinos opposite Bella Italia Naklua are the better pizza for me. Both are thin based, fresh ingredients and not that stodgy rubbish often seen in the West.

Only see one real pizza here and that is the second photo.

Actually, some may argue that pizza didn't come from Italy in the first place. That flatbread with toppings have probably been around long before the Italian style.

So I try to not be judgmental about other peoples choices. Quality of ingredients should perhaps be the only arbiter.

I can recommend what I like to others, but it's really a matter of taste.

So that why I suggest that it should be specified which kind of pizza.

As aforementioned, there is more than one kind of pizza style even within Italy.

I make all my pizza from scratch, although I do mix and ferment the dough in my bread machine.

I also use finely chopped fresh tomatoes instead of tomato paste.

Today I had Tuna and Bell pepper pizza for lunch.

You need to leave the dough in the fridge for at least a day

Italian pizza style CRUSTS generally aren't meant to support large amounts of toppings, especially Neapolitan. Massive amounts of toppings are more associated with American styles of pizza (there are many).

I find it really bizarre that a member here that claimed to idealize authentic Italian style pizzas is complaining about minimal toppings. Better not go to Italy!

To people that say you can't find decent pizza in Pattaya, I call B.S. You can. If you haven't you haven't bothered to eat around to find your personal Pattaya pizza bliss. Of course if you're looking for the exact pizza you used to love in New Haven Connecticut or something specific like that, then you're right. But that would be crazy to expect that.

A style of pizzas that doesn't appear to have been widely exported is Argentinian style pizza.

1974 Buenos Aries blue cheese pizza mind you I was with a local lass so you’ll eat anything then
