"Not the full ticket" driver steals Number 7 bus and goes for a joy ride

A driver in Bangkok was aghast when he realized his Number 7 bus had been pinched from under his nose.

Driver Adithep, 42, had left the keys in the ignition and was waiting nearby for his turn to take the bus out on Sunday evening.

Someone came rushing over to say that the bus had been stolen.

The bus went the wrong way down a road before colliding with a wall opposite The Nature City housing estate in Phasee Charoen district.

Alarmed citizens soon had the driver in custody and waited for the cops to arrive.

Police called him "Tom", 37, and said he was deaf and not the full ticket.

Local cops investigating could not find anyone who knew the man who was unable to communicate through speech. But they said he was able to write his name and surname that led them to his relatives.

The relatives confirmed that "Tom" is mentally defective.

The cops are negotiating compensation with the relatives for damage to the front of the bus and the wall.

If negotiations fail and the case goes to court, is there likely to be a date for the hearing pretty soon? A sign of things to come I suppose.

What about the side of the bus that is clearly crushed against the wall? Who writes this nonsense?
