Man killed by freight train in Chon Buri

An unidentified man was found crushed to death by a train in Chon Buri's Sattahip district on Thursday morning.

 

The Na Jomthien police were alerted to the death at 9am.

 

The man appeared to be in his 40s with rather dark skin. He was wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt and multicoloured trousers.

 

Laemthong Sukphanit, 54, a railway official, told police that he was checking the tracks at 7:30am and found the body near Soi Na Jomthien 1.

 

 

Laemthong said the man might have been killed around midnight when two freight trains were due.

 

Pol Capt Ratchapol Tiamsakhu, the deputy inspector, said it was still unknown who the man was because he carried no identification. It was suspected that he was homeless because residents had seen him walking around.

seems the train crew didn't realize they had run him over,may have been sleeping between the rails...disgusting as the crowd takes pictures...

It occurred to me it might be related to the Buddha Mountain murder, and Mr Fat, but he has apparently 'fled the scene' to Cambodia. Besides if it was him - and he lived up to his nickname, he might have derailed the train.

article mentions two trains arriving at midnight but i only saw one set of tracks

It gets double track at Pattaya...so there could have been some switching there.
