Annoying ChokeDee SMS messages

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me who sends the relentless SMS alert messages in Thai from ‘ChokeDee’? And how to make them stop?

Thanks

What phone provider is it? (AIS, DTAC, TRUE, ...)

AIS. An example is:

บริการ ChokeDee กำลังจะสิ้นสุดช่วงโปรโมชั่นใน 3 วันนี้ค่ะ สอบถามโทร 020260942 (จ.-ศ. 9.00-17.30 น.)

You could try to stop with myAIS (online at the computer).

http://www.ais.co.th/myais/en/

Click "Login" from the menu and enter your phone number and "OK".

Wait for OTP to be sent by SMS  to your phone and enter it on the site.

The site with your data opens.

Then click on the "Service" entry on the left.

Click on  "SMS Preference/Cancellation".

There you see the two main entries:

"Would you like to receive SMS from content providers other than AIS?"

"All SMS from AIS"

Select "No thanks" on both.

You could also check the other tab:

"SMS subscription with Fees"

(I never had, so don't know what you could see)

If it does not help, go to nearest AIS service center (or Telewiz) and ask them to stop it.

You will still receive some SMS from AIS with promotions.

But that's quite rarely, not more than 2 or 3 a week (from my experience).

*137 is the universal (AIS, DTAC, TrueMove H) USSD code to get into the government-mandated, SMS-blocking menu.

Additionally, myAIS (mobile app) and eService (web) can also be used/tried. Success varies, many Thais succumb to having to get a new number.

SMS sent many times you may be caused by the system. SMS, news, ads, horoscopes
can be canceled simply by dialing * 137 and then call (free of charge), then the problem of money lost in the phone!
Or monthly fee higher than normal .

SMS cancellation procedure at * 137

1. When you call * 137 (free call), select the type of SMS you want to cancel.

 Cancel SMS Advertising Press 1
SMS ads are not charged. And will be canceled.

 Cancel paid SMS. Press 2
To cancel some services press 1.
Select Cancel All Press 2
2. Wait for the confirmation message.

3. SMS will be canceled within 1 hour
Canceled, but why have SMS sent again?

It's a good idea to check the "SMS Sender Name" that comes from a company, organization, bank, store, or brand that you may have already provided.
Recommended to cancel with the sender directly.

Thank you both for this info.

I found the ChokeDee in the ‘ SMS subscription with fee’ section of the AIS site. Very well hidden ?

Hopefully now they stop.

thanks again ?
