VR to recover strength+ responsiveness

Recommended Posts

I will try VR to improve balance, strength and ability to fast reactions. Due to accident all of this is out of order.

No interest in gaming therefore the Oculus Go stand alone headset seems good enough. Beat Saber seems to be ok. I hope the game can be slowed down no way I could match that, perhaps every 3rd beat.

Do you have suggestions?

Music is terrible for my old ears but that is irrelevant.( No VR with Mozart as yet, I guess )

This report about a man who lost 138 pounds gave the idea.

What is good for weight loss should be good for (modified) rehabilitation training. Every penny helps.

This s my first search, for any rehab game suggestions, I'm gratefull!

This may of interest too, a modifier, not sure how it works

I have an oculus rift with the touch controllers, there is a boxing game there and if you add some weights to your wrist you do get a workout.

thanks RObblock

I was thinking of the Oculus Go not because of money but because I can take it with me.( Not sure if I will actually do this but so my thoughts)  If you would buy today would it be Rift again?

Just one remark, the go does not seem to have hand sensors, if it does not its less suitable for what you want because i take it you want hand coordination ?

Today i tried the boxin game i posted, must say I do think it can give people a bit of a workout. Makes you bend duck and punch a lot. But you need hand sensors.

Too bad your in Phuket otherwise i would give you a demonstration.

I moved to Chiang Mai, still far away for you.

How about a short video?

Also, I've not be able to figure out if that glove would work on the GO

The Glove One seems to work best withOculus Rift-VR-Glases plus the Leap-Motion sensor , suitable with Kinect and other Tracking systems . .........from a German magazine .......the cost should be about $ 200.

Where to buy it?

My Asus ux305 probably does not suffice, or? What would you buy today? Still don't relish the thought to trip over cables. But the glove seems to have 9 sensors.

My nerves  of the right hand were damaged in an accident. Handwriting hardly possible, lack of fine motoric movement. The GLOVE might help

It would be to far for you as you would have to come here for a demonstration. Its not as if I can easily take all the stuff with me.

Anyway.. if its not about money (the gloves and the go are in the same price range as the rift) Why don't you just go for the rift knowing it will do as you want. But it does depend on what kind of computer you will be using it

You are in Pattaya? Can you give a link what type of pc is good?

I am in Bangkok, (north part near central westgate) they say if you got an I7 (processor) with a good graphical card (not cheap one) you will be ok. VR is real demanding, but it of course depends on WHAT games you use it for. The ones you mention are less graphical demanding then the high end games.

If you can get a chance i would really advise you to try VR first to see how it goes.

Yes its nice, i normally work out with weights myself. But I am probably in better shape as you.

One problem I got is a dog, the stupid dog (my own) will grown and bark if i play VR and walk around too much.

I like the VR sports games but they are not heavy enough for me. I did add some wrist weights and play that made it harder. I might need to do something with my legs too.

The pics you see are pics of the oculus rift with hand sensors.

As for a PC.. you need a good graphical card, and you need some memory. and a good processor. VR is still not cheap but it certainly can help a lot.
